MAGA Republican President Donald Trump spent much of the week on a trip to Asia to address Asian representatives before the beginning of the 2025 Asian Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Gyeongju, South Korea.
On the way, Trump stopped in Malaysia and Japan—where his behavior drew widespread concern and mockery—before landing in Busan to meet with South Korean President Lee Jae Myung and pick up some new golden swag for his collection.
Along the way, Trump spoke with the press corps traveling with him on Air Force One. On Monday, Trump declined to rule out a third term as President, a notion supported by his sales of "Trump 2028" merch in the Trump Store and prior comments by the POTUS.
On a flight from Malaysia to Japan, Trump said:
"I haven't really thought about [a 2028 presidential run]. But I have the best poll numbers that I've ever had."
The second-term POTUS added he would "love to do it."
Last week, convicted felon and Trump pardon recipient Steve Bannon, a former White House adviser and current Trump ally, told The Economist there was a "plan" to secure Trump' third term in 2028.
Bannon stated:
"Trump is going to be President in '28, and people ought to just get accommodated with that. At the appropriate time, we'll lay out what the plan is."
Trump himself has gone back and forth between saying he wants to be President again in 2028 and then acknowledging the Constitution's 22nd amendment explicitly bars the option—something he did again on Wednesday.
Flying from Japan to South Korea, Trump said:
"It’s a very interesting thing. I have the best numbers for any President in many years. And I would say that, if you read [the United States Constitution], it’s pretty clear I’m not allowed to run. It’s too bad."
Republicans in Congress have danced around questions about Trump's multiple indications he wants to remain in office, often claiming he's "joking," which Trump then refutes, but Texas Democratic Representative Jasmine Crockett had no issue tackling the subject.
During a live chat on her YouTube channel, an episode titled "Clock It with Crockett: The People's Edition," Crockett responded directly to Trump's 2028 aspirations.
The Texas Democrat said:
"You will not get a third term. And frankly you never shoulda had one term."
"You were never qualified to be President not once, but definitely not twice."
"You are a loser, and unfortunately we all are being dragged down with you and your loser ways.”
Representative Crockett's commentary was picked up by TMZ and The Shade Room and went viral across social media platforms.

The 22nd amendment of the United States Constitution states:
"No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once."
Repealing a constitutional amendment requires approval from two-thirds of both the House of Representatives and the Senate and then ratification by 38 of the 50 state legislatures.
The process is viewed as highly unlikely, making any Trump 2028 actions unconstitutional.
Vice President JD Vance was criticized after he said during a Turning Point USA event that he hopes his wife, Second Lady Usha Vance, who is the daughter of Telugu-speaking Indian Hindu immigrants who hail from Andhra Pradesh, will convert to Christianity someday and "see things the same way" that he does.
A woman in the audience had the opportunity to ask Vance how he squares having a Hindu wife and mixed-race children with his anti-immigration rhetoric, a nod to the Trump administration's ongoing immigration crackdown that is tearing families across the country apart.
She asked how he is making sure not to put his Christian faith ahead of his wife's Hindu faith when teaching his kids and not to put his "kind" ahead of his wife's "kind" simply because his family has been in the U.S. longer compared to his wife's immigrant family.
She added:
"When you talk about too many immigrants, when did you guys decide that number? Why did you sell us a dream? You made us spend our youth, our wealth in this country and gave us a dream. You don't owe us anything. We have worked hard for it."
"How can you as a vice president stand there and say that we have too many of them now and we are going to take them out to people who are here rightfully so by paying the money that you guys asked us? You gave us the path and now how can you stop it and tell us we don't belong here anymore?" ...

In response, Vance insisted that the U.S. "has to honor that promise" made to immigrants already in the country and that he is only "talking about people who violated the laws." However, the woman pointed out that the Trump administration "is pushing out policies that hurt us and these policies are not even solving the problem."
Vance replied that just because there are immigrants here in the U.S. already "doesn't mean we have to let in a million, 10 million, or a 100 million a year in the future," stressing that he is interested in representing "the interests of the United States" as opposed to the rest of the world.

But then things got touchier when he addressed the woman's question about the Second Lady and her faith, saying:
"Everybody has to come to their own arrangement. The way we've come to our arrangement is she's my best friend, we talk to each other about this stuff. We decided to raise our kids Christian ... but everyone has to have their own conversations when they're in a marriage." ...
"The only advice I can give is you've got to talk to the person God has put you with. Most Sundays, Usha has come with me to church. As I've told her and as I've said publicly, and I'll say now in front of 10,000 of my closest friends: Do I hope eventually that she is somehow moved by the same thing I was moved by in church?"
"Yeah, I honestly do wish that because I believe in the Christian gospel, and I hope eventually, my wife comes to see it the same way. But if she doesn’t, then God says, everybody has free will, so that doesn’t cause a problem for me. That’s something you work out." ...

Many were appalled by Vance's reply, pointing out that it doesn't sound like he respect's his wife's free will at all—and does see her as beneath him and his own faith.
Vance's comments sting as well because his wife is not accepted by the MAGA faithful; there was significant backlash after Vance was named President Donald Trump's running mate because, as one GOP critic put it, he is married to "a brown."
Recently, podcaster Jennifer Welch criticized Vance for not defending his own family in the wake of the Young Republicans group text scandal, in which members of the conservative group shared racist, misogynistic and antisemitic commentary that would later be leaked online and reported by Politico.
Vance dismissed these messages as "stupid" jokes made by "kids" even though the Young Republicans are a group comprising actual adult men and women in their 20s and above. Welch, addressing MAGA voters directly, said "if this man will not defend his wife, and will not defend his kids, do you think he gives a crap about you?"
Vance has not walked back his remarks or responded to criticisms that he did not defend his wife or his mixed-race children.
In an effort to get children to stop using physical violence against one another, they are often instructed to "use [their] words".
Of course, words run no risk of putting people in the hospital, or landing them in a cast.

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy—who is also NASA's Acting Administrator—issued the weirdest fact-check ever when he corrected reality star Kim Kardashian after she revealed herself to be a moon landing conspiracist.
Conspiracy theorists have long alleged the moon landing was fabricated by NASA in what they claim was an elaborate hoax—and Kardashian certainly made it clear where she stands in a video speaking to co-star Sarah Paulson on the set of the new Hulu drama All’s Fair.
In the clip, Kardashian attempts to persuade Paulson that the Apollo 11 astronauts never actually landed on the Moon. Instead, she claims, they merely orbited Earth while the world watched staged footage filmed in a studio, before returning home to be wrongly celebrated as heroes.
Kardashian reads from an article that reportedly recounts someone asking Buzz Aldrin (the NASA astronaut who landed on the Moon during the Apollo 11 mission) about the scariest moment of the expedition:
"And [Aldrin] goes, ‘There was no scary moment ’cause it didn’t happen. It could’ve been scary, but it wasn’t ’cause it didn’t happen.’”
Kardashian claimed that Aldrin’s “facade has slipped” with age, suggesting he may have unintentionally revealed the truth about the moon landing.
She adds:
“So I think it didn’t happen."
In a follow-up confessional, she says:
“I center conspiracies all the time. I don’t think we did. I think it was fake."

Duffy later issued a response to the clip on X, writing:

Kardashian responded, asking for "the tea on 31 Atlas," referring to 3I/ATLAS, an interstellar comet that originated outside our solar system and is currently behind the sun.
Thanks for correcting a conspiracy theorist, Mr. Duffy. But considering Duffy...of all people...corrected Kim Kardashian...of all people... really made people consider just how weird the whole exchange was.
Each day under the Trump administration just gets weirder.
It can be really fun to experience something for the first time that you've never really had before, like a disposable income.
For the average person, there isn't generally a lot of excess money to spend frivolously when they're a child, so when they hit their twenties and have their first "real" or "more important" job, they might find themselves in a position to enjoy some of the finer things in life.
But spending for fun can quickly go sideways, and people often look back at their 20s, wishing they'd managed their money differently.

Financial management and financial awareness come with age and experience for most people, and while it's easy to look back and cringe over our decisions, the important thing to remember is that it's never too late to start following a budget, spending more wisely, and saving some money.
While our twenties may have been the best time to start saving or investing, it's better to start today than to never do it at all.
