Melania Slept Through Election Night Instead Of Being By Trump's Side, Former Aide Claims

Stephanie Grisham, former White House Press Secretary, claimed Melania Trump slept through much of election night 2020.

When it came time for Trump's speech, she was asleep in her bedroom instead of awaiting the results like much of America.

Grisham described the evening.

"I knocked a few times, quietly at first, but louder at each attempt. I finally opened the bedroom door only to find that Melania Trump was sound asleep."

Grisham, who also served as Melania's chief of staff, revealed these details in her upcoming book. I'll Take Your Questions Now: What I Saw in The Trump White House.

She said the former First Lady was understandably quite tired from a late night the day before, combined with an early start to the day and traveling to Florida and back so she could cast her own ballot.

"I knew by now how much sleep meant to her, but still, I couldn't imagine being asleep at a time like that. Maybe she thought that someone would wake her up if Trump won."

Trump didn't win, though he said he had in his press conference that night.

Melania Trump then evidently became convinced that "something bad happened" and the election results were illegitimate.

When Grisham tried to explain that the small irregularities are part of the normal election process and not an indicator of some grand conspiracy to oust her husband from office against the will of American voters, she refused to listen.

Melania Trump's current staffers replied to buzz about Grisham's book.

"The intent behind this book is obvious. It is an attempt to redeem herself after a poor performance as press secretary, failed personal relationships, and unprofessional behavior in the White House."

They even went so far as to accuse Grisham of betraying Melania Trump.

"Through mistruth and betrayal, she seeks to gain relevance and money at the expense of Mrs. Trump."

Politico noted the "failed personal relationships" the staffer was referring to meant her recently ended relationship with Max Miller, a former Trump staffer.

The relationship allegedly ended after a physical altercation in which Miller pushed Grisham up against a wall and slapped her in response to her accusing him of cheating, but Miller denied these allegations.

Election night isn't the only time Melania Trump seemed a bit out of touch, according to Grisham.

Grisham texted her during the Capitol riot on January 6 to see how the First Lady wanted to respond on social media and her response was worrying.

Grisham asked:

"Do you want to tweet that peaceful protests are the right of every American, but there is no place for lawlessness and violence?"

Melania Trump simply responded:

"No."

Grisham resigned just a few hours later.

Trump's Dismissive Reaction To Concerns About Insider Trading Amid His War With Iran Speaks Infuriating Volumes

In an article for CounterPunch titled "Trump’s Casino Royale: The Iran War," Matthew Stevenson wrote:

"Given that Donald Trump conceives of the presidency as a casino—why else would he be trying to makeover the White House to look like the Bellagio?—it makes sense that his administration has turned the war with Iran into an insider-trading scheme."
"It used to be that wars were fought to make 'the world safe for democracy' or 'to end all wars' (a World War I expression), but now wars are fought so that Trump insiders can get rich quick in prediction markets or to help the president’s family (and its remittance men) corner the Persian Gulf oil market."

Pointing out who is profiting off inflating oil prices and creating false scarcity, Stevenson added:
