Congresswoman Lauren Boebert (R-CO) is one of the freshman representatives whose embrace of far-right rhetoric amplified by former President Donald Trump.

Boebert owns Shooters restaurant, where the service staff are encouraged to openly carry firearms on the clock. She gleefully spread Trump's lies that the 2020 election was "stolen" from him, and just before a mob of pro-Trump extremists stormed the United States Capitol, Boebert tweeted, "Today is 1776."

Other members of Congress later said that Boebert gave a tour to a group of supporters in the days leading up to the riots, despite the Capitol being closed to tours due to the pandemic. Some speculated that Boebert—who also tweeted updates on the locations of lawmakers as the Capitol was still under siege—was actively providing intel to the insurrectionists.

The Congresswoman, who is the second Republican House member to express support for the QAnon conspiracy theory, recently released an ad calling for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) to remove the protective fencing from the Capitol, concluding with an ominous gunshot sound.

And on Tuesday, Boebert sent another tweet, asking her followers what they were grateful for in the face of a devastating year.

In the tweet, Boebert implied that public safety guidelines put forth in the face of the pandemic that's killed over 500 thousand Americans amounted to "draconian restrictions," and said she was grateful for the chance to serve in Congress.

Responses from others were quite different.

Many, unlike Boebert, were grateful that Trump lost the 2020 election, despite his frequent attempts to overturn the results.

Boebert, like every House member, is up for reelection next year.
