Musician John Legend has emerged as one of the most visible critics of President Donald Trump in the entertainment industry. Shortly before the 2020 election, Legend performed at a rally for Vice President-elect Kamala Harris and he remains a vocal dissenter against Trump's tweets and daily falsehoods.

Legend's latest rebuttal came in response to the President's continued refusal to accept defeat from President-elect Joe Biden.

Breaking with the centuries-long tradition of defeated Presidents gracefully conceding and working with their successors to facilitate a transition, Trump and his team have launched numerous lawsuits hinging on false claims of voter fraud in multiple states.

Meanwhile, the President continues to share false information designed to undermine faith in the United States' democratic process among his supporters.

Retweeting a lie that election observers were never allowed into ballot counting facilities, Trump boasted that he won 73 million "legal" votes.

In the days since Biden was declared the winner of the election, the President and his sphere have frequently deployed the term "legal votes," implying the existence of millions of illegal votes. Judging from the President's tweet, any vote for Trump is considered a "legal" vote.

Legend mocked Trump's all-caps declaration by telling him to look up the number of votes for Biden.

Legend pointed out that, as was the case in 2016, Trump lost the popular vote in the 2020 election, with Biden earning 77.7 million votes—around five million more votes than Trump.

People largely agreed with Legend's comeback.

Legend wasn't the only one to call out Trump for his latest Twitter boast.

Despite Trump's complaints, President-elect Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris will be inaugurated on January 20.
