GOP Sen. Dismisses Gun Restrictions Since We Don't 'Get Rid Of Sober Drivers' Due To Drunk Drivers

GOP Sen. Dismisses Gun Restrictions Since We Don't 'Get Rid Of Sober Drivers' Due To Drunk Drivers
CSPAN-3

Following the back-to-back mass shootings in Georgia and Colorado, many Americans have renewed the call for stricter gun control in the United States.

Republicans in Congress, however, have been going to extreme lengths to show that control isn't the answer.

During a speech in front of the Senate, Republican Senator John Kennedy of Louisiana tried to vilify gun control, likening stricter regulations to taking away sober drivers' licenses.

It didn't take a genius to see that the sort of regulations that apply to driving are the exact kind of regulations Democrats want to apply to gun ownership.

In a way, many pointed out, Kennedy was making the liberals' point for them.

Republicans always have a reason why the mass shootings in America must continue.

According to Joe Kennedy, the near-weekly deaths of innocent people are regrettable, but a price we must pay so that every American who wants to can own a gun.

Kennedy's argument didn't hold water with many people online.

It's doubtful John Kennedy will be pleased when and if Democrats take his analogy to its logical conclusion, passing common-sense gun laws to try and prevent future deaths.

Stephen Colbert Makes Somber Plea To Americans In Wake Of Charlie Kirk's Death

Kirk died after an unidentified gunman shot him in the neck as he—ironically enough—mocked victims of gun violence at an event in Utah Valley State University. Kirk's murder has galvanized the far-right, with President Donald Trump and his surrogates claiming without evidence that rhetoric from Democrats is responsible for Kirk's death.

Woman Goes Viral After Revealing How Her Obsession With Matcha Landed Her In The Hospital

Let's be honest: Too much of anything isn't good for us. It's all about the balance!

But the media and social media trends have taught us that certain things are really good for us, encouraging us to be like the "very mindful and very demure" girls and take care of ourselves. One such example is drinking more matcha, especially if you really like coffee or think you have a caffeine addiction.
