Drake was in Miami filming a music video for his number one single "God's Plan" at Miami Senior High School, but he took some time off from the shoot earlier on Monday to execute a plan of his own. He made a surprise appearance to reward University of Miami student, Destiny James, with a check for $50,000 towards her tuition.

The surprised student had applied for various scholarships and received them expecting nothing else to follow. However, she was asked to film a video to discuss the importance of scholarships. But the video was all a ruse for the Canadian recording artist to make a cameo and reward James with a huge check.

"I was contacted this weekend about doing a video speaking about where I come from, things I've been through, and why it is so important for scholarship donors to continue to donate," James explained. "This was the surprise the whole time. Drake told me that he has read great things about me and appreciates how hard I've worked through so many trials and decided to give me $50K for my tuition."

Drake has been on quite the philanthropic streak lately. Just prior to helping James, the world-famous rapper donated $25,000 to the aforementioned Miami Senior High School in Miami, the filming location for the "God's Plan" music video.

He also donated OVO uniforms for the students on campus.

Footage from behind the scenes of the music video surfaced on the Internet.

James expressed her appreciation on being recognized for her hard work and incorporated Drake's billboard chart-topper into her Instagram post.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!' You don't understand what this means to me! I would've never imagined this happening to me. I'm just a girl from Denmark, SC that wants to MAKE IT and be somebody and for you to see my hard work means the world. Thank you so much. God I thank you. You are so great and amazing! Thank you for blessing me when I thought my hard work was going unnoticed. I'm living out my dreams. God's Plan.

Drake was always inspired by the ambitions of hopeful students and showed his support through multiple charities. In 2013, he was moved by an interview on World News with Diane Sawyer and donated a brand new recording studio to Strawberry Mansion High School, which is located in a notoriously unsafe neighborhood in northwest Philadelphia.

I caught this piece that Diane did and I was like by the end of it I was so heavily affected that at the end I started questioning like major aspects of my life. It just really changed a lot about me.

That same year, he teamed with The Game and donated $22,500 to a mother, who lost her boyfriend and her five children to a mobile home fire, to help pay for funeral costs.

After surprising James, Drake wasn't finished being in the giving mood while in Miami.

The upstanding artist with a big heart is giving all of us the feels. Thanks, Drake!

Idaho Bar Ripped After Organizing 'Hetero Awesome Fest' During Pride Month

An Idaho bar is drawing criticism after announcing it will be hosting a "Hetero Awesome Festival" (is that really the BEST name you could come up with? Maybe workshop it a bit more...) in response to LGBTQ+ Pride Month.

The grown adults who run Old State Saloon in the Boise suburb of Eagle are convinced that "traditional family values" are under assault because of Pride, so they will be holding their event on June 20 and 21 outside Idaho's state Capitol, to coincide with Pride celebrations.
