Utah Man Gets Locked In His 24-Hour Fitness Gym, And Documents His Ordeal To The Delight Of Facebook

Utah Man Gets Locked In His 24-Hour Fitness Gym, And Documents His Ordeal To The Delight Of Facebook

So, apparently not every 24-Hour Fitness gym is open 24 hours a day, regardless of the fact that it's literally in the business name.

Dan Hill, of Sandy, Utah, found that out the hard way.

Luckily for us, he documented the shenanigans (and his rescue) on Facebook.

The night in question started like any other night at the gym. Dan showed up and got to his workout.

None of the employees let on that anything would be different from the usual. In fact, as far as Dan could tell it was business as usual.

He had no idea something was wrong until he finished doing laps in the pool and noticed he was the only one there.

No, not the only one in the pool area—the only one in the building.

The employees had shut everything down, locked up and gone home not realizing Dan was busy on his Aquaman grind.

Dan's 24-Hour fitness was no longer open 24 hours and nobody bothered to tell him—or to do a final walk through of the facilities to make sure all the patrons were out. That left him in a bit of a predicament.

Now what?

First thing's first, Dan called his city's non-emergency police line and let them know he was stuck. Then he called his wife to let her know he was being held hostage by a non-24-hour 24-Hour Fitness.

Then, he did what any of us would do and turned the experience into a funny little photo-shoot so he could post about it all on Facebook.

Dan knows what the people want.

Curious about how this happened?

So was Dan!

A little bit of investigation on his part turned up some information that would have been great to know before he started his work out. The 24-Hour Fitness location Dan was working out at had recently made the business decision to cut down their hours.

They didn't see much late-night business, so it made sense to them to do away with the 24-Hour concept. Instead, they opted to start closing the location between midnight and 4 a.m.

Unfortunately, the new hours caused a bit of a flub for staff who, presumably, were not accustomed to closing procedures on a business that, up until now, never closed. So they just plain forgot about Dan.

And that's how you end up with a man locked inside of an otherwise empty non-24-hour 24-Hour Fitness having to be rescued by the police.

Yup.

Rescued.

Dan's big night out—erm, big night in?—kept Facebook users pretty darn amused. It'll probably make you smile, too—especially considering what he did to pass the time while he waited.

Why get in an extra work out when you can chill in a hot tub, amirite?

Dan's our kind of guy.

Everything turned out fine in the end. Dan got out just fine and got a popular Facebook post out of the incident.

He doesn't have any hard feelings towards the non-24-hour 24-Hour Fitness. In fact, he still works out there.

He just makes sure employees know he's there.

Nancy Mace Ripped After Using Transgender Slur To Refer To Charlie Kirk Killer

South Carolina Republican Representative Nancy Mace was fiercely criticized following the assassination of far-right activist Charlie Kirk when she used a slur to reference the rumored gender identity of the killer, who has yet to be identified by authorities.

Since Kirk's killing on Wednesday, Mace has erroneously claimed that rhetoric from Democrats is responsible for Kirk's death—and now she's taken the opportunity to once again attack transgender people, saying with no evidence whatsoever that "the shooter was a tr*nny, or pro-tr*nny."

Stephen Colbert Makes Somber Plea To Americans In Wake Of Charlie Kirk's Death

Late-night host Stephen Colbert had a somber message for Americans as he addressed the assassination of far-right activist Charlie Kirk, stressing that "political violence only leads to more political violence."

Kirk died after an unidentified gunman shot him in the neck as he—ironically enough—mocked victims of gun violence at an event in Utah Valley State University. Kirk's murder has galvanized the far-right, with President Donald Trump and his surrogates claiming without evidence that rhetoric from Democrats is responsible for Kirk's death.

TikToker Hilariously Calls Out Target After Champion Pants Feature Awkwardly-Placed Front Pleat

Sometimes you can just tell when something was designed *for* women, but was not actually designed *by* women.

Take, for instance, the new pleated pants available at Target from the Champion clothing line. While there's nothing wrong with pleated pants and they certainly have a suitable spot in the workplace, the latest rendition of Champion pleated pants are, shall we say, NSFW.
