Texas Man Comes Clean After Odd Glitch In His Doorbell Cam Makes It Look Like He Was Abducted By Aliens

Texas Man Comes Clean After Odd Glitch In His Doorbell Cam Makes It Look Like He Was Abducted By Aliens
Inside Edition / YouTube

A man from Houston, Texas, was recently the subject of viral excitement and controversy in light of what his Ring security camera supposedly recorded on his front door step: the man himself disappearing into the sky.

Theories flew left and right, and the brief Ring video went viral on Twitter as viewers speculated explanations for what they believed they saw in the video.

It's unclear if Larry Lewis, the man from the video, originally shared the video with his friends, or if the recording was acquired by other means, before going viral.

You can watch the full Inside Edition video here, including Lewis's Ring recording:

Was This an Alien Abduction or Illusion?youtu.be

Nonetheless, Lewis initially joined in on the fun, playing to the hype that he had fallen victim to an alien abduction.

Between the video being available and Lewis playing along, the video rapidly spread across the internet.

When the video went viral, Inside Edition sought Lewis out for an interview, hoping for more information about what had happened behind-the-scenes, if Lewis had any explanation for what viewers were seeing in the video, and of course, if Lewis had done any tampering with the video himself.

When asked about what appears to be the abduction, Lewis joked:

"I saw myself walking and then I saw myself disappear... I made sure I got home for dinner."

The reporter from Inside Edition then asked what happened, probably meaning what happened when the recording ended, or if Lewis had any explanation for the video.

Lewis, instead, joked again:

"I can't talk about it right now."

Lewis has since come clean, however, to share that the incident had a very simple explanation.

Though it was fun to play along and to speculate what such a sight in a video could mean, Lewis believed at the end of the day that all it was was a camera glitch.

Lewis explained:

"I think it got caught up in the recording, and whatever, the loop got stuck."

The reporter clarified further:

"So it stopped recording, and you had walked out of frame, and it looked like you disappeared?"

Lewis simply agreed:

"Right. Right."

It seems the mystery has been solved for this strange video, but as you can see from many of the Twitter reactions, many still believe there is more to the story. Maybe Invasion of the Body Snatchers will happen after all?

All joking aside, Lewis's recording is a fun video to watch, and speculation comes easily when Lewis's exit is so perfectly timed with the flash of light at the end.

Tim Walz Has Epic Clapback After Nancy Mace Asks Him To Define 'Woman' During Congressional Hearing

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz had a splendid response after South Carolina Republican Representative Nancy Mace attempted to claim that his support for transgender women would bar him from recognizing fraud in his state.

Walz's appearance at the hearing comes amid conservative claims—offered with little supporting evidence—that Somali-run childcare centers in Minnesota improperly received public funds intended to support childcare for low-income families. Subsequently, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the FBI expanded their presence in Minnesota as federal authorities froze childcare funding statewide.

Elmo Just Asked His Followers 'Where Have You Been?'—And Zohran Mamdani Had The Purest Response

Elmo, the furry red childlike monster from Sesame Street designed by Caroly Wilcox, began his life as a generic "baby monster" background filler in the 1979-1980 season of the long-running children's television program.

Originally having a gruff voice supplied by various puppeteers, Elmo found his falsetto-voiced, loving persona when Kevin Clash took over in 1985. Elmo was transformed into a three-and-a-half-year-old character designed to connect with the show's audience of preschoolers.
