After Qualls revealed on his 'Locked and Probably Loaded' podcast that he and Olsson are engaged after a years-long friendship, Olsson took to social media to thank fans for their enthusiastic support.

Canadian actor Ty Olsson thanked fans after news of his engagement to fellow Supernatural actor DJ Qualls.

The popular drama follows the Winchester brothers, who hunt demons, ghosts, and other supernatural entities. At fifteen seasons, the popular show is considered the longest-running American live-action fantasy TV series.

While it's not surprising that love blossoms behind the scenes on many people's favorite shows, fans were surprised and elated over the latest Supernatural romance.

In the show, Olsson portrayed vampire character Benny Lafitte and Qualls played hunter-turned-werewolf Garth Fitzgerald IV.

The engagement news affirmed to fans that vampires and lycanthropes can have a happily ever after, after all.

On May 16, Olsson shared his excitement on X (formerly Twitter) and wrote:

"Thank you everyone for all the love and support and kindness today."

He added smiley faces and sent supportive fans "love and hugs:)"

The announcement prompted an outpouring of love and support for the happy couple.

Qualls, also known for his co-starring appearances in Z Nation and The Man in the High Castle, discussed how he and Olsson's strong kinship evolved, leading to a mutual desire to grow old together.

The 50-year-old Tennessee native recalled on the Locked and Probably Loaded podcast how he and his future husband crossed paths at a convention.

"We maybe said three words together," he said.

"I was going to Turkey with a friend and he came up to us and was like, 'Can I come on your trip with you?'"

Qualls remembered how "pure" Olssen was in inviting himself on a group outing.

"I'm like, 'That is so ballsy'. I could never invite myself on somebody's trip because I would be afraid they would begrudgingly tell me 'Yes' and then not want me there."

"But it was just so pure and awesome. And that's who he is," said Qualls.

They eventually became inseparable.

Qualls continued:

“It’s just so crazy that this person who was just my friend, now I think about all the time and he sends the best messages, and he supports me and loves me unconditionally in the right way.”

Qualls believes unconditional love means that “you treat that person with some respect, and their best interests are your best interests," which is exactly how he views the kind of person Olsson is.

“Ty was the first person in my entire life, my entire life that [I] ever had that with,” Qualls said, adding:

“[He is] the best friend I ever had, and now we’re going to be old men together, which is so crazy."
"Fans continued gushing over the "werepire" union.

Olsson and Qualls are now the third couple to make a love connection on the set of Supernatural.

Jared Padalecki, who played Sam Winchester, met wife Genevieve Cortese when she had a recurring role on the show in its fourth season. They married on February 27, 2010.

Ruth Connell, who played the powerful witch Rowena, and Rob Benedict, who played writer Chuck Shurley, also met on the show and started a romantic relationship. They had a daughter this January.
