The actor commented on a video of America Ferrera accepting the SeeHer Award at the Critics' Choice Awards to reveal that she tried to pitch a 'Barbie' movie in the '90s, and the studio heads weren't having any of it.

Sharon Stone revealed that she pitched a movie about Barbie in the 1990s, but her idea was completely dismissed by studio heads.

The actor made the revelation while commenting on a video of America Ferrera's Critics' Choice SeeHer Award acceptance speech.

Ferrera posted the video on Instagram with the caption:

"Thank you to @criticschoice for honoring me with the #SeeHer Award."
"I’m so glad for the opportunity to speak from my heart about what it means to me.🤎"

In her speech, the Barbie star thanked Greta Gerwig "for proving through your incredible mastery as a filmmaker that women's stories have no difficulty achieving cinematic greatness and box-office history at the same time," adding:

"And that unabashedly telling female stories does not diminish your powers, it expands them."

You can watch the speech below.

Many people took to the comments to congratulate Ferrera on her honor as well as to thank her for acknowledging and articulating the power of the film.

Sharon Stone was one of them, thanking Ferrera and the rest of the cast and crew for their "courage and endurance." Stone also revealed she had been "laughed" at when she suggested the idea of a Barbie movie in the 1990s.

She wrote:

"I was laughed out [of] the studio when I came with the Barbie idea in the 90s with the support of the head of Barbie."
"How far we've come."
"Thank you ladies for your courage and endurance."
