Local Lawmaker Rips George Santos For Lying About Why He 'Stopped By' Santos' Office

Josh Lafazan calls out Santos for misrepresenting his protest outside his Douglaston office calling for him to resign.

New York Republican Representative George Santos is facing criticism for lying about the reason a local Nassau County politician visited his office.

Although Santos claimed legislator Josh Lafazan had simply "stopped by" and even thanked him for discussing "the concerns that were addressed in the letter he brought in," Santos' post doesn't tell the full story: that Lafazan had called on him to resign.

Shortly afterward, Lafazan shut down Santos' in a tweet of his own, writing:

"Let's be very clear: I did not 'stop by' your office. I hosted a prosted 'outside' your office calling on you to resign, and then hand-delivered you a letter to stop wasting police resources."
"Can't say I'm surprised you choose to distort the truth here — you're very good at it."

Santos has been mired in scandal since New York Times reporters unearthed multiple lies he'd told about his life story.

He now faces ethics investigations amid allegations he violated campaign finance law as well as a separate fraud inquiry in Brazil, where he used to reside.

Although Santos admitted to "embellishing" his résumé and questions remain about his education, work history and even his source of income, he has not heeded calls to step down from Congress, instead assuring GOP officials he will not run in 2024.

The news Santos' had lied about the reason Lafazan met with him didn't surprise anyone and he was abruptly criticized for it.

Santos' latest lie came shortly after he admitted he is a "terrible liar" and said he regretted lying about his life during an interview with Piers Morgan.

Santos appeared to want viewers to feel sorry for him when he said he did not enjoy the attention his lies have garnered around the world and would never have run for office if he'd known he'd generate so much controversy.

Morgan, however, did not let Santos off easily—particularly after questioning why Santos lied about his mother being in the World Trade Center during the terror attacks of September 11, 2001—and said he struggles to believe anything Santos says.

Roger Stone Slammed After Suggesting Dem Senator Should Be 'Executed' For Criticizing Trump

President Donald Trump's ally is facing heavy criticism after declaring that Arizona Democratic Senator Mark Kelly should be charged with "treason" and "executed" for his dealings with a Chinese company that makes surveillance balloons.

Stone's remarks followed Kelly's comments on Trump's crypto coin scheme outlined in a now-rejected bill that aimed to establish a regulatory framework for stablecoins, a type of digital asset designed to maintain a fixed $1 value, making it better suited for everyday transactions. Democrats said the legislation did not contain adequate standards to safeguard against corruption.
