Donald Trump's Social Media Director Just Made the Most Tone-Deaf Claim About Trump's Visit to Ohio and People Are Calling Him Out

Donald Trump's Social Media Director Just Made the Most Tone-Deaf Claim About Trump's Visit to Ohio and People Are Calling Him Out

Read the room.

After a deadly weekend of mass shootings, the President visited the two affected cities Wednesday.

Self-described "Assistant to President @realDonaldTrump, Director of Social Media" Dan Scavino Jr. decided to use the trip to Dayton, Ohio as a chance to take a dig at Democratic Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown and Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley who held a press conference after the President's visit.

Scavino posted on his official Trump administration Twitter account slamming Brown and Whaley for, in his words, "mischaracterizing what took place w/ the President's visit to Miami Valley Hospital today."

He then went on to demonstrate a failure to understand the gravity of the moment, tweeting:

"The President was treated like a Rock Star inside the hospital, which was all caught on video. They all loved seeing their great President!"

New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman spoke for many:

CBS News White House correspondent Steven Portnoy pointed out that all hospital footage was taken by members of the Trump administration. Reporters and news cameras were not allowed to accompany the President.

Others weighed in as well.

Portnoy added that the White House press pool that traveled to Ohio with the President would not need to go to the hospital as the focus would be solely on the victims and not a "photo op" for Trump and First Lady Melania Trump.

Predictably, also retweeted by Scavino were these hospital visit photos shared by President Trump and the White House.

For a non-photo op, people noted a lot of emphasis placed on photos and videos of President Trump, taken, produced and shared by members of the Trump administration.

People took exception to the emphasis placed by Trump staff members on the President's popularity during a national tragedy.

After leaving Dayton, POTUS and FLOTUS flew to El Paso, Texas for another not a photo op visit.

Fox News Gets Blunt Reality Check After Championing 'Big Comeback' Of Hamburger Helper

Fox News was criticized after it happily reported on the rise of consumers turning to Hamburger Helper for meals even though that's a sign that the economy is in a very bad place.

Hamburger Helper comes in boxed form and consists of a dried carbohydrate (usually pasta or rice) along with a packet of powdered seasonings. The contents are combined with browned ground beef (“hamburger”), and water or milk to create a complete one-dish meal.

Emma Stone's New Movie Just Forced People To Shave Their Heads To See 'Bald-Only' Early Screening

Would you shave your head for $20? Or, more accurately, would you shave your head for something worth $20?

Average movie ticket prices in California are about $20—that's $40 for a date night and $80 for a family of four. So the opportunity to see a free advanced screening of Bugonia, a new movie by Yorgos Lanthimos (Poor Things) starring Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons, might be enough to entice some people to do some stunt.

Steve Bannon Just Assured People That Trump Has A 'Plan' To Stay In Office In 2028 In Alarming New Interview

Former White House counselor-turned-far-right influencer Steve Bannon was criticized after revealing that President Donald Trump has a "plan" to get a third term as president, an action that would violate constitutional norms.

The 22nd Amendment of the U.S. Constitution clearly states that “No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once.”
