The troubles surrounding Republican Representative Matt Gaetz of Florida are making his popularity wane.

Gaetz is currently under investigation for the sex trafficking of minors.

He recently turned to Twitter to plead with supporters for help and donations.

As Gaetz's Venmo and debit accounts are both currently under investigation for the payments he made through them in relation to an underage girl, Twitter users couldn't resist throwing in a little jab about Venmo here and there.

Gaetz attracted the eye of the American public since earlier in 2021, when he supported former President Donald Trump's lies about the 2020 election and the seditionists of the January 6 Capitol Insurrection.

Gaetz has repeatedly denied the allegations about sex trafficking while admitting to the relationship with a 17-year-old girl while he is in his 30s.

The GOP Congressman claimed the investigation into him is part of a scheme to extort $25 million from he and his family to keep the details under wraps.

Ironically in 2017, Gaetz was the only member of Congress to vote against a law to give the federal government more power to fight against human trafficking.

So far, no official charges against Gaetz have been filed, but several of his assets have been seized.
