The first ever virtual Democratic National Convention is in full swing, with two more days of speeches from notable lawmakers like 2016 Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, 2020 Vice Presidential nominee Kamala Harris, and an address from Democratic Presidential nominee Joe Biden.
While some have praised the Democratic National Committee's adjustment to the pandemic-induced event, not everyone is pleased.
Among its harshest critics is far-right Fox News host Laura Ingraham, who tweeted about the proceedings.
The Democrats live in a very depressing version of the America. Everyone is struggling. Everyone is a victim. Everyone is trying to survive a harsh and cruel society. And we're supposed to believe only Amtrak Joe can save us?

Ingraham lamented that the Democrats' version of America is "depressing," with everyone painted as "struggling" and "trying to survive a harsh and cruel society."
Her comments came as 170+ thousand people are dead of the pandemic that's also left millions unemployed and without health insurance. This health and economic crisis is only compounded by inaction to nationwide calls for racial justice in the United States.
What's more, President Donald Trump—whom Ingraham vehemently supports—used similar rhetoric throughout his 2016 campaign, where political experts say he used fear and division to increase voter turnout within the Republican party.
People thought her comments described Trump to a T.
That's funny, I remember Trump's inaugural address about American carnage which he described in great detail and that he would stop it. Now his presidency is completely defined by carnage.

Indeed. Who can forget the deeply optimistic and inspiring depiction of national achievement expressed by @realDonaldTrump's teleprompter on January 20, 2017? https://t.co/GYf5ttsnUf pic.twitter.com/ofgAm1Knnc

That was LITERALLY Trump's entire 2016 platform. https://t.co/JzHhrcw8fV

The GOP 2016 convention painted it as a dystopic hellscape of abandoned factories and a hollowed-out heartland overrun by hordes of illegal aliens while Hillary Clinton laughed and ate bon-bons, but sure, Dems have a depressing vision of America. https://t.co/OXEQiX3LM1

They even aware they are literally always describing the Trump madness? https://t.co/OFZshHPmTE

What's more, the current state of the union, for many, is a depressing place at this time in history.
173,000 dead Americans
28 million Americans out of work
Fed printing money hand over fist to the tune of $5 Trillion (with a T) in purchases of corporate bonds and mortgage backed securities to float the market.. pic.twitter.com/bS0shttDUs

Gee we are sorry that constant Covid deaths and a looming depression is such a downer. We'll try to be more cheerful, just for you.

How can there be racism, poverty, and discrimination in America when Laura Ingraham has never been a victim of them? That just doesn't seem likely… to Laura Ingraham.

laura, ten million people have become unemployed over the past six months and we are locked inside, going crazy because of a plague https://t.co/destLC8vjP
