Someone Threw A Fish At A Pro Soccer Player's Face During A Game—And Now We've Seen It All

Someone Threw A Fish At A Pro Soccer Player's Face During A Game—And Now We've Seen It All

We've heard of disgruntled spectators hurling objects like lemons and banana peels at performers and athletes to express their disapproval over an unworthy performance.

But throwing fish at an athlete?

Now that's a first–at least one that was archived on social media.

A viral video showed an Argentinian soccer player being slapped in the face by an airborne amphibian thrown by a fan during a Primera Division match in Buenos Aires between Independiente and Racing Club.

Independiente forward Leandro Fernandez was seen taking a stumble to the ground as a result of the impact after Monday's scaly encounter.

Medics tended to him and the fallen player appeared to be okay as he returned to complete the match.

Unfortunately, his team eventually lost to the rival team, Racing Club.

Amateur comedians on Twitter seized the opportunity for jokes.

While the fish tosser was not identified and their harmful actions are not to be encouraged, their audaciousness of lugging a fish into the venue for the purpose of hurling it at a player with impressive accuracy cannot be ignored.

MAGA Rep. Ripped For Changing Story About Why He Sleeps In His DC Office To Fit Trump Agenda

Tennessee Republican Representative Tim Burchett was criticized for claiming that he "lives" in his office because of crime in Washington, D.C., even though he gave a completely different reason earlier this year to explain how he maintains productivity.

Burchett's remarks came as President Donald Trump federalized the Metropolitan Police and deployed about 800 National Guard troops to the nation’s capital this week while claiming crime in D.C. is "out of control" despite falling crime rates.

Sorbo gripes about Vikings cheerleaders

American actor and sudden cheerleading morality police Kevin Sorbo appeared to spontaneously combust online when the Minnesota Vikings announced the addition of two male cheerleaders to their 2025 squad.

Born in Mound, Minnesota, Sorbo has long cultivated his brand of brawny, bicep-flexing alpha male heroics—playing Hercules in Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, Captain Dylan Hunt in Andromeda, and starring in the 2008 parody Meet the Spartans, where he famously shared an on-screen kiss with Sean Maguire’s King Leonidas.
