Matthew McConaughey told Kelly Ripa on her 'Let's Talk Off Camera' podcast it's possible he and Woody Harrelson may actually be blood-related and are looking into doing a DNA test.

Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson have always been close, their bromance shining through in their friendship and every time the pair have appeared in films or TV shows together.

During an appearance on Kelly Ripa's podcast "Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa," McConaughey told Ripa he thinks he and Harrelson might actually be blood relatives.

He told Ripa:

"You know, where I start and where he ends, and where he starts and I end, has always been like a murky line."
"And that’s part of our bromance, right? My kids call him Uncle Woody. His kids call me Uncle Matthew etc... etc..."
"And you see pictures of us and my family thinks a lot of pictures of him are me. His family thinks a lot of pictures of me are him."

He then shared a conversation with his mother in Greece a few years prior that suggested the pair might really be half brothers.

"In Greece a few years ago, we’re sitting around talking about how close we are and our families. And my mom is there, and she says, ‘Woody, I knew your dad’…"
"Everyone was aware of the ellipses that my mom left after ‘knew.’ It was a loaded K-N-E-W."

As they continued the conversation, the likelihood increased.

"We went on to unpack what this ‘knew’ meant and did some math and found out that (Harrelson’s) dad was on furlough at the same time that my mom and dad were in their second divorce."
"Then there’s possible receipts and places out in West Texas where there might have been a gathering, or a meeting, or a ‘knew’ moment."

McConaughey also said the pair are "on the precipice" of getting a DNA test done to verify if they are siblings.

But he was more hesitant than Harrelson over the possibility of finding out the man he thought was his biological father wasn't.

McConaughey's father, James McConaughey, died in 1992.

He told Ripa:

"Look, it’s a little easier for Wood to say, ‘Come on, let’s do [the DNA tests],’ because what’s the skin in it for him?"
"It’s a little harder for me because he’s asking me to take a chance to go, ‘Wait a minute, you’re trying to tell me my dad may not be my dad after 53 years of believing that?’ I got a little more skin in the game."

McConaughey and Harrelson are executive producers on the HBO Max series True Detective. The duo also starred as the main characters in the first season.

McConaughey and Harrelson are currently appearing together in an Apple TV+ series called Brother From Another Mother that fictionalizes their incredibly close friendship over the years.

The series' name might take on a whole new meaning, depending on the results of their DNA test.

Nancy Sinatra Shuts Down MAGA Fan Who Claimed Her Famous Dad Would've Voted For Trump

It's no secret that MAGA Republican President Donald Trump hasn't been able to attract the cream of the crop when it comes to the entertainment industry. While Kid Rock, Kevin Sorbo and Scott Baio are Trump ride or dies, pretty much every other Hollywood or music legend or rising star is taking a pass on Trump.

And some outright despise the man and let everyone know. Often.
