President Donald Trump inevitably learned a lot this election cycle, but here's yet another lesson: If you're going to make a major movie reference while trying to win something as big as an election, make sure you're ready for the nerdy responses.

Earlier in his campaign, Trump's campaign manager, Brad Parscale, decided to make a very memorable Star Wars reference, utilizing the Death Star.

On May 7, Parscale tweeted:

"For nearly three years we have been building a juggernaut campaign (Death Star). It is firing on all cylinders. Data, Digital, TV, Political, Surrogates, Coalitions, etc. In a few days we start pressing FIRE for the first time."

He also included a GIF of the Death Star from Return of the Jedi.

But it appears Parscale left the door wide open for mutual Star Wars fans, especially when the Trump campaign's success began to look bleak last week as more projected-Red states turned Blue.

In unique nerd-form, Joe Biden's digital director, Rob Flaherty, responded not with the Death Star's success, but with it exploding, which was also featured later in Return of the Jedi.

What's so hilarious about this is that Flaherty felt no need to write a verbal response. He simply responded with a GIF of the explosion.

Those following the campaign online got a kick out of Flaherty's response, but it was a meaningful cause for celebration once Joe Biden became the projected President-Elect.

Those following Biden took the opportunity to create Death Star burns of their own, and some of them were absolutely delightful.

Though it seems there's a long trail ahead, as Trump wishes for further investigations to be done regarding the voting results before he will give any form of concession speech, this moment at least gave everyone something to laugh about while tensions remain high.

Inevitably more of these trolling responses will emerge as, figuratively, more pieces of this rendition of the Death Star are observed out in space.

Or we can at least hope for Trump's expectations and allegations to return from space.
