Texas High School Cancels Remaining Classes After Senior Prank Causes Thousands Of Dollars Of Damage

Classes were canceled after a disastrous senior prank at Memorial High School in Frisco, Texas spiraled out of control.

Students who are responsible for the massive destruction caused by what started off as a harmless prank could face criminal charges.

Footage shared online included clips of the school vandalized–not just with the Post-it notes as initially proposed–but with released smoke bombs in the halls, toppled and destroyed furniture, discharged fire extinguishers, and debris everywhere.

Here is some of the footage posted to social media.

A group of students had been given permission to use Post-it notes to decorate the walls inside the campus as part of a senior prank.

But the harmless prank went too far, and the exploitation of the school's permission for the Post-its prank resulted in the entire campus shutting down "due to air quality issues," according to Frisco Enterprises.

School officials sent out a message stating:

“Staff members were on site to monitor students but the situation devolved rapidly, and the Frisco Police and Fire Departments became involved."

The letter added:

“A small group of those students vandalized the campus to a point that classes are not able to be held at MHS for the remainder of the week.”

Senior student Abhi Bandi, who was hoping for a positive was disappointed in fellow classmates by the turn of events.

“These two days were going to be our last days to say goodbyes to people we may never see again, say goodbye to our teachers that we care for so much."
“It’s the whole class that had it ruined just because of a few kids that decided to vandalize the school.”

Student Katelynn Mabre–who did not participate in the prank–expressed similar sentiments.

“They canceled school because of everything that happened. And now, I don’t get to see those teachers that were a big part of my life," she said, adding, “And it’s just it’s not funny. It’s not cool. It’s just sad.”

Mabrey's mother, Teresa Mabrey, told Fox 4:

"The school's gonna have to be cleaned completely from top to bottom. There's thousands of dollars worth of damages."

The Frisco Police Department is investigating the damages done to the school and looking into who is responsible.

Officer Grant Cottingham told the Frisco Enterprise:

“The dollar amount of the damage will determine the appropriate criminal charge(s), and as FISD indicated, they intend on pursuing charges when appropriate."

In a brief speech, Trump acknowledged the Eagles' 40–22 win over the Kansas City Chiefs was “a little surprising,” a remark that appeared to reference the Chiefs' consecutive Super Bowl victories in 2023 and 2024. He then shifted focus to Swift, getting in a petty swipe drawing attention to Swift's presence at the game to watch her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, play tight end for the losing team.
