President Donald Trump awarded far-Right radio host Rush Limbaugh the Presidential Medal of Freedom at his State of the Union address earlier this month.

Days later, Limbaugh made even more headlines when he scoffed at the idea that gay South Bend, Indiana Mayor and 2020 presidential contender Pete Buttigieg would kiss his husband on a debate stage next to "Mr. Man" Donald Trump.

Despite massive outcry against the homophobic remarks, Limbaugh has yet to apologize.

Now, we know why.

In a moment shared by Media Matters, Limbaugh said Trump himself called to urge him not to apologize for his comments about Buttigieg.

Limbaugh said he wasn't aware of the backlash caused by his comments, before adding:

"Hell, the president even called me about this. The president checks in every now and then to see how I'm doing. He's such a nice guy. And he called...he said 'Rush, I just got to tell you something. Never apologize, don't ever—' and I said, 'For what?' Well, I had no idea this thing had even bubbled up, you know? I'm doing the medical thing that I have to do here. And I wasn't even aware of this."

Trump was giving Limbaugh a piece of advice Trump has followed his whole life. Despite his numerous missteps and scandals, Trump has almost never apologized.

In a 2015 appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Trump said:

"I think apologizing's a great thing, but you have to be wrong. I will absolutely apologize, sometime in the hopefully distant future, if I'm ever wrong."

People weren't exactly surprised to hear of Trump's advice to Limbaugh.

Trump's supporters like to claim that he's the most pro-LGBTQ President in history, though his administration's record doesn't support this. At all.

Democrats won races around the country, particularly in Virginia, where Abigail Spanberger became the first woman to the win the governorship in the state's history, and in New York City, where Zohran Mamdani, a democratic socialist, successfully took on the establishment to become the first South Asian, first Muslim, and first millennial mayor-elect.

Ariana Grande Calls Out Death Threats After She's Forced To Miss 'Wicked: For Good' Premiere In Brazil

The sense of entitlement to an artist's time and attention from some fans has become ridiculous, and perhaps even dangerous.

This was recently exemplified between Ariana Grande and her fans in Brazil when the singer was outright threatened with violence after a flight mishap caused her and her team to miss the Brazilian premiere of Wicked: For Good.

Sean Hannity Roasted After Claiming His Friends In NYC Are 'Scared' After Mamdani's Win

When Democratic Socialist Zohran Mamdani won the Democratic primary for New York City mayor in June, Republicans and some old school Democrats were positively apoplectic.

An immigrant Muslim of Gujarati and Punjabi Indian parents who has lived in NYC since he was 7 years old, the 34-year-old New York State Assembly member was the stuff of nightmares for the MAGAsphere. Mamdani was a non-White, non-Christian, Uganda-born immigrant and progressive Democrat.

AOC Has Democrats Applauding With Her Viral Reaction To Zohran Mamdani's Historic Win

New York Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez had people nodding their heads after she opened up about why democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani's win in the New York City mayoral election on Tuesday is so important for the country at large as well as for the future of the Democratic Party.

Mamdani successfully took on the establishment to become the first South Asian, first Muslim, and first millennial mayor-elect, running a campaign that focused predominantly on the city's affordability crisis and that successfully batted away racist and Islamophobic backlash from right-wingers who claimed his policies would "destroy" the city.
