This Massive Steer Is Testing PetCo's Policies Regarding All Leashed Pets

PetCo!

Where the pets go!

Well, what is the limit of pets?

One Texas man really wanted to test that limit, so he did....by bringing in his pet steer.

This steer.

Was.

Massive.

Man takes steer into Petco to test leash policy www.youtube.com

It had to duck its head to get in the door.

The steer, whose name is Oliver, was probably very confused at getting all this attention, including cameras flashing at him from all angles.

But apparently, PetCo's "all pets are welcome on a leash" policy is the real deal.

"Yes, any domesticated companion animals that are legal to own in your county/city/state, and has proper license and is fully vaccinated, are welcome to accompany you to your visit to Petco," says the official website.

Oliver the steer may have been less welcome in a New York City PetCo, for instance. But this Houston-area PetCo "welcomed Oliver the African Watusi with open arms."

Oliver is a 1600 lb African Watusi, who are described as:

"the show-stoppers of the bovine kingdom. Medium-sized animals, with long, large-diameter horns, they attract attention wherever they appear. These regal animals can easily trace their ancestry back more than 6,000 years and have often been referred to as 'cattle of kings.'"

Oliver has his own Facebook page which documents everything from Oliver being washed:

To other appearances on the town:

And he has already won the hearts of millions.

This really is peak Texas.

Oliver has made no comment on the event, but we would like him to know that he is a very good boy.
