Insider recently went behind the scenes of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel to discuss the show's impressive, but often overlooked, cinematography.

If you didn't notice or haven't watched Season 2 of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, the first episode opens with an incredibly impressive long take.

If you're unfamiliar with the terminology, a "long take" refers to a scene being filmed continuously without cutting to a different camera or angle.

Long takes used to be the only way to film a movie, but technology soon allowed filmmakers and editors to piece different takes together.

Nowadays, long takes are an impressive feat, requiring stringent planning and choreography.

He explained to Insider that the opening scene of Season 2 took 3 to 4 weeks to plan the one minute, 17 seconds long scene.
