Jennette McCurdy celebrated her memoir 'I’m Glad My Mom Died' staying on the 'New York Times' best seller list for 80 weeks with a confetti cannon—but it didn't go quite like she planned.

Writer and former Nickelodeon child star Jennette McCurdy had plenty to celebrate over the weekend, but that doesn't mean she was in any way ready for it.

McCurdy took to social media with a confetti cannon in hand to celebrate the 80th week her memoir about her abusive mother, I'm Glad My Mom Died, appeared on the New York Times Best Seller List.

But McCurdy's fear of loud noises definitely got the best of her—and her reaction to the confetti cannon's pop was one for the ages.

@jennettemccurdy

thank you for making igmmd a nyt bestseller for 80 weeks. and still the #1 audiobook 🙏 i’m celebrating

The video starts off normal enough, with McCurdy sitting in front of a giant 80 to mark the occasion. But it quickly goes sideways.

Gingerly holding the confetti cannon aloft and struggling to break it open, she says:

"I’m scared... Ahhh, fu*k, I’m scared, OK? Fu*k, I hate… This is a bad idea, I hate loud noises!

Boy was she not kidding! When the confetti cannon finally went off, McCurdy let out a bone-chilling shriek and held her ears as if the entire room had just exploded.

Thankfully, McCurdy herself couldn't help but laugh as the confetti began raining down around her.

She said:

“I can hardly breathe, oh my god, that was the scariest thing I’ve ever experienced.”

She then quipped, "“that’s what my next memoir’s about!”

And judging from the social media response, McCurdy's tome about the terrors of confetti cannons will also be a best seller because her shriek definitely made an impression.

Let's hope when her memoir about the terrors of confetti cannons does even better than I'm Glad My Mom Died, they can just give her, like, a kazoo or something to celebrate. She's been through enough!

President Donald Trump was widely mocked after he asserted during a 60 Minutes interview with Norah O'Donnell that he's "much better-looking" than New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani—a claim that not a soul is taking seriously.

Trump isn't exactly known to be a looker but he has nonetheless declared himself a "perfect physical specimen" and boasted about his physical prowess, once noting that his own White House physician had declared him "healthier than Obama"—despite Trump's distaste for exercise and fondness for fast food.

California Governor Gavin Newsom criticized White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt and the GOP at large after she claimed to have been "horrified" by the toilet in the Lincoln bathroom before President Donald Trump's marble renovation.

Trump shared an update about ongoing renovations aboard Air Force One while en route to Florida for the weekend, even as the federal government remains shut down and his administration continues to refuse to release all of the emergency funds to sustain SNAP food assistance benefits through November.

Far-Right Podcaster Slammed After Claiming Most SNAP Recipients Are 'Lazy' And 'Bad People'

Conservative mouthpiece Matt Walsh, who got his start in shock jock talk radio like Alex Jones, decided to feed his listeners' desire for someone to blame about the Republicans' government shutdown by spouting misinformation about the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).

MAGA Republican President Donald Trump's Department of Agriculture decided not to continue SNAP benefits to feed mostly children, the elderly, and disabled as a means to force Democrats to meet the Republican majority's conditions to reopen the government.
