There's a reason why those who are planning a wedding rely on professionals, whether it's a catering company, photographer–or in this case–dress designers, to ensure picture-perfect weddings.

But when the budget is tight, brides sometimes resort to taking matters into their own hands.

Not everyone could pull it off, however.

One bride thought that her cost-cutting measure to personally make dresses for her bridesmaids was a splendid idea.

However, reflecting back on the day of her nuptials, Samantha VanMeter Foreman realized she was way off.

Foreman made a TikTok video in which the floating caption read:

“That time I made my bridesmaid dresses and legit made these girls wear these in my wedding!”

She said in the video, "It is so bad, I wanna give you a zero. But that's not possible. So I give you: a 1."

VanMeter ducked to reveal the green screen image behind her of a bridesmaid wearing the TikToker's sartorial miss.

The pictured matrimonial gown was an orange and pink tutu with tulle for days, and if VanMeter intended for it to appear as though it was dyed using rainbow sherbet that was left out in the sun too long, she nailed it.

But this was clearly a mistake, which she owned in her viral video that racked up over 1.2 million views by Friday.

Some of the hashtags she included in her post were #whatwasithinking and #oops.

TikTokers hilariously agreed the dress was not a success.

VanMeter explained in a follow-up clip that she was 22 and "loving life" when she got married in 2012 in her mother's backyard.

She said she decided to make the dresses herself because she couldn’t find one that could fit all 5 of her bridesmaids "the right way."

She added that she spent hours making all the dresses "until her fingers ached" after coming home from waiting tables.

"What was I thinking, guys?" she sighed while admitting, "I mean they're cute..for little girls."

At the end of her confessional, she said it was a "life lesson" and strongly encouraged viewers not to make their own bridesmaid dresses "out of tulle."

Noted.
