GOP Senator Ted Cruz took to X to ask users, "If you were having a beer with @elonmusk and you could ask him ANYTHING, what question(s) would you ask him?"—and it immediately backfired.

GOP Texas Senator Ted Cruz posed a hypothetical question relating to Elon Musk on X (formerly Twitter) and users seized the opportunity to share their no-holds-barred thoughts.

The hardcore devotee of Republican President Donald Trump took to Musk's platform on Wednesday and asked:

"If you were having a beer with @elonmusk and you could ask him ANYTHING, what question(s) would you ask him?”

Some users didn't have specific questions but praised Musk, whom Trump selected to head the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which has been responsible for the gutting of DEI programs and significantly scaling back on the federal workforce.

Plenty of users, however, threw some major shade, much of which Cruz never saw coming.

Others had genuine concerns they needed to get off their chest.

It's highly unlikely the Texas Senator will be repeating these inquiries to the tech billionaire.

But to hear Grok tell it, Musk is more fit than one of the top basketball players on the planet—and smarter than some of humanity's greatest minds.
