Robert Downey Jr.'s Latest Instagram Video Has 'Avengers: Endgame' Fans Feeling Very Emotional

*Warning: Avengers: Endgame spoilers ahead*

While you're deciding whether to turn back or proceed, enjoy this little taste of RDJ being RDJ.

For those still with us...

If you're aware of anything happening in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, you know about the father/son bond between Tony Stark and Peter Parker.

After the death of Peter's parents (and Uncle) Iron Man (played by Robert Downey Jr.) stepped in as a super-powered role model which also gave Tony a sense of parental responsibility over the fledgling superhero.

All of this lead to a particularly devastating heartbreak when Spider-Man got snapped out of existence in Avengers: Infinity War.

Fortunately, at the end of Avengers: Endgame, the efforts of our heroes manage to bring all of their fallen friends back onto Earth just in time for a final battle with Thanos. This, of course, meant we got to see a final reunion between Tony and Peter.

Many fans thought the onscreen version of the scene was about as emotional as it could be.

Their opinions changed, however, when Robert Downey Jr. shared a behind-the-scenes video of the touching moment:

Marvel fans everywhere had to hold back their tears.

Considering the ultimate end Iron Man meets soon after this reunion, Twitter found the footage even more moving.

The hug also paid off an earlier moment from Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Many fans felt ripped off by the lack of fatherly cheek-kiss in the final film!

Of course, there was still one mystery left unsolved...

Now that Robert Downey Jr.'s part in the MCU has come to a close, he seems to be having fun sharing many of the behind-the-scenes clips he's accumulated while filming his final installment.

There's no doubt everyone within the MCU will miss Iron Man, but none more than his young protégé, Peter Parker.
