During the World Cup final yesterday, fans all over the world were divided between rooting for France or Argentina.
After Argentina's win, however, they were split on the humor—or not—of Argentina's goalkeeper Emiliano "Emi" Martinez's acceptance of his Adidas Golden Glove trophy.
After receiving the award—a trophy in the shape of a golden goalie glove—Martinez proceeded to place the award on his crotch and begin thrusting as he walked away.
You can watch the moment below.

Obviously such a grand gesture on such a grand stage made headlines and viewers weighed in.

Many didn't think it was that big of a deal, some even saying it was funny.
Give him a break. I think he just did that out of excitement without thinking what he is doing. May be that’s a getups to all his nay sayers.

“Did you lot just see what Martinez done with his golden glove trophy 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣”— MJ (@MJ) 1671388285
Others, however, believed it was quite vulgar.
A foolish and rude player, this act is totally immoral, a sane person does not do the same. It is an insult to the host country. I hope the award will be taken away from him.

Fantastic Games. Love Argentina and Messi. But this moment was definitely not one of the highlights!

And some even thought maybe a little bit of both.
Not sure how to take it…sorta funny…kind of crude, but whatever

I think we can give him a pass and chalk it up to humor done in poor taste.

After he had his fun, Martinez dedicated his award and win to his family.
Congratulations to Argentina and to Martinez.
