Ted Cruz Gets Dragged Hard After Loudly Screaming 'Freedom!' To End His CPAC Speech

Senator Ted Cruz, a Republican from Texas, has had a spotty record for the first two months of 2021 which just keeps getting spottier.

On January 6th, Cruz and fellow Republican Senator Josh Hawley came under scrutiny for their role in inspiring the insurrection at the United States Capitol. Just a few weeks ago, Cruz again came under fire when he was spotted fleeing to Cancun on a plane while Texas citizens had no power or running water and/or received multi-thousand dollar electric bills.

And then came the Conservative Political Action Conference, aka CPAC, where he did....this:

What?

In addition to his bizarre end to his speech (yes, this was in fact the END of his speech) Cruz also mocked mask wearing:

Said Orlando was "not as nice as Cancun":

Made fun of Jerry Seinfeld:

And made fun of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for being frightened for her life during the Capitol insurrection he drew criticism fof helping to incite:

But it really is the bizarre William Wallace from Braveheart scream of "FREEDOM!" at no one in particular that is the oddest moment of the entire chain of bizarre.

The irony of the "freedom" comment is not lost on Twitter, considering Cruz worked to overturn a free and fair election in hopes of installing Donald Trump, an unelected autocrat, into the office of President.

The stage at CPAC was shaped like an odal rune, a Nazi-appropriated symbol. There was a golden idol of Donald Trump wearing American Flag boxers in the room.

Ted Cruz screamed "FREEDOM!" at the top of his lungs and refused to acknowledge Joe Biden won a free and fair election.

Though the GOP may not be in control of the country any longer, more worrying signs of their particular brand of populism continue showing themselves.

Texas Republican state Representative Stan Gerdes admitted on Wednesday that a bill he sponsored served no purpose and addressed an issue that never existed in American schools.

His bill, HB54, would ban "furries" from classrooms. Furries are a subculture that enjoys dressing up and acting like non-human animals.

The White House Now Has Its Own News Website—And People Are Calling It Out For What It Is

Critics called out the Trump administration for running its own propaganda network after the White House publicized "White House Wire," its own news website that features news articles from conservative news outlets like the Daily Caller and Fox News.

The White House Wire (WHWIRE) primarily features positive coverage of the president and administration, with stories mainly sourced from conservative outlets and contributions from government staffers. One early headline, "100 Days Of Hoaxes: Cutting Through The Fake News," was notable but did not include a direct link to a story.

Trump Suggests Kids Will Just Have To Deal With Having A Lot Fewer Toys Due To His Tariffs

President Donald Trump was criticized for his response to concerns about empty store shelves due to his tariffs, suggesting that children will just have to settle for "two dolls instead of 30," and that those dolls might cost more than they used to.

U.S. businesses are already canceling orders from China and delaying expansion plans as they brace for the fallout from Trump’s trade policies.
