After the rapper announced on X that he's 'decided to give up smoke,' stunned fans threw out all kinds of theories as to why.

When it comes to iconic duos, Snoop Dogg and marijuana are right up there with Bert & Ernie and chocolate and peanut butter. But it seems the end of an era has at last arrived.

Snoop recently announced that he has "decided to give up smoke," and boy did the internet have feelings about it.

Snoop made his big life announcement in a post on Instagram and X, aka Twitter, that instantly went viral.

In his post, Snoop wrote:

“After much consideration and conversation with my family, I’ve decided to give up smoke."
"Please respect my privacy at this time.”

Obviously this is major news, even if it seems frivolous. Snoop's entire career, brand, persona and many of his songs have been based around his love for ganja for the entirety of his 30-plus-year career.

In more recent years, since marijuana has been legalized in many parts of the country, Snoop has also turned his enthusiasm for pot into a handful of business ventures.

And he's been known to have enjoyed a smoke with all kinds of luminaries, from singer Ed Sheeran to maybe even former President Barack Obama—at least that's what he obliquely claimed in his 2021 song "Gang Signs."

So what gives? Nobody seems to know, though this is not the first time he's publicly quit smoking pot. He famously declared he was quitting back in 2003 during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, a decision he joked earlier this year he had since "relapsed" from.

Many fans believe the announcement is merely a publicity stunt, part of the launch of his next pot-related business venture.

Whatever the explanation is, fans on social media have theories as to why Snoop is quitting pot, or at least saying he's quitting pot.

But others were just in shock that Snoop's days as America's foremost pot connoisseur might be coming to a close.

Truly the end of an era, and what an era it was.

Darline Graham, the sister of late Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, was swiftly fact-checked after claiming that she's "not being handed" her brother's seat even though she quite literally was named to temporarily fill it.

Senator Graham died on the evening of July 11 after returning from an official visit to Ukraine. According to a preliminary finding from the medical examiner, shared by his office, Graham died after suffering an aortic dissection—a tear in the inner wall of the aorta—linked to hardening of the arteries.

John Hinckley Jr. Shares New Message For Jodie Foster 45 Years After Shooting Ronald Reagan To Impress Her

Some Hollywood stories fade with time. The disturbing history connecting Jodie Foster and John Hinckley Jr. is not one of them. For those who don’t know, on March 30, 1981, Hinckley waited outside the Washington Hilton in Washington, D.C., where President Ronald Reagan had just addressed 5,000 members of the AFL-CIO.

As Reagan emerged from the hotel, Hinckley fired six shots from a revolver. One bullet ricocheted off Reagan’s limousine and struck him beneath his arm. White House Press Secretary James Brady, police officer Thomas Delahanty and Secret Service agent Timothy McCarthy were also wounded.

Journalist Reveals Just How Much Money Has Been Diverted From National Parks For Trump's Vanity Projects—And People Are Livid

In a series of articles for MacFarlane News and MeidasTouch, videos, and an appearance on CNN, Chief Washington Correspondent for MeidasTouch Scott MacFarlane blew the whistle on MAGA Republican President Donald Trump’s raiding of National Park Service (NPS) funds. Aided by his Interior Secretary Doug Burgum, Trump diverted NPS money to pay for all of his White House and Washington D.C. vanity projects.

Trump’s hand-selected, mostly unwanted and unnecessary White House grounds and National Mall projects—things like a botched reflecting pool resurfacing, golden decor, a helipad, a ballroom, gilded statues, and giant flagpoles—alone took $423 million from major national parks across the country.

Engaged Woman Sparks Theories After Finding Strange Hair Tie Near Her And Fiancé's Home Entryway

Finding out that your partner is cheating doesn't always have to involve accidentally seeing a nefarious text message or walking in on the act. But sometimes, signs of what could be cheating might have a far stranger explanation.

Posting in the "Girl Dinner Diaries" subReddit, Redditor Jack-of-not posted a photo of an open-faced sandwich and explained what she'd discovered:
