Sandy Hook Families Swiftly Shut Alex Jones Down After 'Transparent And Desperate' Settlement Offer

Sandy Hook Families Swiftly Shut Alex Jones Down After 'Transparent And Desperate' Settlement Offer

Extreme right-wing radio host Alex Jones recently offered to pay $120,000 per plaintiff to settle the lawsuit brought against him by the families of the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.

The plaintiffs assert Jones defamed them and their families with his claims the massacre didn't actually happen.

Unfortunately for Jones, the families quickly rejected his offer and the case will go before a judge.

Only a few hours after the settlement offer was made, the families' lawyers released a statement, calling the move a:

"transparent and desperate attempt by Alex Jones to escape a public reckoning under oath with his deceitful, profit-driven campaign against the plaintiffs and the memory of their loved ones lost at Sandy Hook."

In November, Judge Barbara Bellis of the Connecticut Superior Court found Jones liable for damages against the families. Jones is currently awaiting a trial to determine how much he will have to pay.

The families faced harassment and even death threats from Jones' listeners in the 10 years since the massacre.

20 children in first grade and 6 educators were killed in the shooting. Jones repeatedly asserted the whole thing was a hoax perpetrated by liberals to undermine gun rights.

He has since admitted he believes the shooting did happen after faced with consequences for his lies, but the damage to the victim's families was already done.

Many online felt Jones should face the consequences of his actions in court.

Jones recently failed to appear for two days of deposition related to the suit last week, causing the families to ask he be sanctioned or arrested for defying the court.

Trump Made A Petty Dig At Taylor Swift During The Eagles' White House Visit—Because Of Course

President Donald Trump was called out after he made a petty dig at pop star Taylor Swift during his speech for the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles' visit to the White House.

In a brief speech, Trump acknowledged the Eagles' 40–22 win over the Kansas City Chiefs was “a little surprising,” a remark that appeared to reference the Chiefs' consecutive Super Bowl victories in 2023 and 2024. He then shifted focus to Swift, getting in a petty swipe drawing attention to Swift's presence at the game to watch her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, play tight end for the losing team.
