White House reporters were given a panicked thrill on Tuesday after a baby mouse fell out of the ceiling of NBC's press booth and onto White House Correspondent Peter Alexander's lap.
Alexander tweeted about his unusual encounter Monday morning, saying:
"In other news: A mouse literally fell out of the ceiling in our White House booth and landed on my lap."
Fellow reporters snapped photos and recorded video of the chaos that followed as they scrambled to catch the mouse as it ran around the press booth.
The mouse then reportedly escaped the booth and started "running free" in the press briefing room.
The quick little mouse managed to escape and has not been caught, as far as anyone knows.
But that didn't stop the jokes from running wild.
It does seem pretty fitting, after all.
Strangely enough, there is actually a children's picture book, Woodrow, the White House Mouse available here, about a mouse in the White House.
