On Sunday, Nick Carter paid a heartbreaking tribute to brother Aaron Carter who died in his California home the day before. Nick shared on Instagram that though they had struggles in their relationship, his love for his brother "never faded."
Nick shared his emotional message along with several pictures of the two.
The caption reads:
"My heart is broken."
"Even though my brother and I have had a complicated relationship, my love for him has never faded."
"I have always held on to the hope that he would somehow, someday want to walk a healthy path and eventually find the help that he so desperately needed."
"Sometimes we want to blame someone or something for a loss, but the truth is that addiction and mental illness is the real villain here."
"I will miss my brother more than anyone will ever know. I love you Chizz."
"Now you can finally have the peace you could never find here on earth..."
"God, please take care of my baby brother."

On Sunday night, the Backstreet Boys also honored Aaron during their concert in London.
A picture of Aaron was displayed on the jumbotron with the words:
"Aaron Carter 1987-2022"
Kevin Richardson then said:
"Thank you so much, London. That was our latest and very last single off of the 'DNA' album."
"And that song is very special to us because that song is about family. And everybody in here, we all grew up together."
He continued:
"We've been through highs and lows, ups and downs. You guys have been through it with us."
"We've been through it with you and we thank you for taking us on that journey with you."
"We thank you for being a part of the Backstreet family for 29 years. We thank you for all the love for all the years."
Brian Littrell and AJ McLean went over to hug Nick.
Richardson finished:
"Tonight, we've got a little bit of heavy hearts cause we lost one of our family members yesterday, and we just wanted to find a moment in our show to recognize him."

The moment was met with an eruption of cheers and applause from the audience.
Aaron had revealed to Oprah Winfrey in 2016 that he started drinking heavily in 2009. The same year he went to rehab but then was arrested in 2010 for driving under the influence.
The singer later struggled with substance abuse and had been in an outpatient rehab program over the last few months.
