Rudy Giuliani Jokes That He Has 'Very Good Insurance' in the Event That Donald Trump Throws Him Under the Bus

Hmmm....

President Donald Trump's personal lawyer, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, has made gaffe after gaffe after gaffe after gaffe in defending his client.

With each new stumble in defending Donald Trump, some speculate that Giuliani's firing is imminent. Even Trump once answered that he didn't know if Giuliani was still representing him.

So when The Guardian asked Giuliani if he feared Trump would throw him under the bus, Giuliani joked that, even if Trump did, he wouldn't be scared. Why? Because he has good insurance.

He said:

"I'm not [nervous about being thrown under the bus by Trump], but I do have very, very good insurance, so if he does, all my hospital bills will be paid."

Giuliani was apparently joking that he had good health insurance and could recover from being thrown under a literal bus.

Twitter, however, was divided as to whether or not "health insurance" was a metaphor for "compromising material," in the same way that the "bus" is a metaphor for blame or condemnation.

CNN fact-checker Daniel Dale assured that Giuliani was joking.

Others weren't so sure.

Especially after Giuliani's lawyer, Robert Costello, stepped in to clarify that Giuliani was joking.

But when it comes like staunch Republicans like Giuliani, it says a lot that they can joke about how great their health insurance is.

Really landed that one, Rudy.
