Founder of Straight Pride Parade Just Accidentally Told the Truth About What His Group Is Really All About, and People Can't Stop Mocking Him

Whoops!

Former Senate candidate Don Grundmann and his group, the National Straight Pride Coalition (NSPC), announced last month intentions to hold a straight pride rally in its home town of Modesto, California.

Despite the NSPC's website claiming to celebrate the "inherent superiority" of whiteness and heterosexuality, Grundmann insisted its members aren't racist.

Until he didn't.

At a recent city council hearing regarding the NSPC's rally permit, Grundmann accidentally told councilmembers that the NSPC was a "peaceful, racist group," eliciting heavy laughter from the crowd.

Watch below:

Grundmann was accusing Councilwoman Kristi Ah You, who hasn't kept her criticisms of the event secret, of pulling "the race card."

He continued:

"You pulled the race card to justify attacks against us in that park. When they come, you're going to turn right around and say we deserved it. We haven't done anything. We're a totally peaceful racist group."

Ah You, along with the rest of the observers, descended into raucous laughter and applause, leaving Grundmann unable to reclaim his point. The laughter continued on Twitter:

But not everyone was laughing.

Grundmann isn't the only straight pride advocate with skeletons in his not-closet. Another straight pride parade in Boston has also been linked to far-right and white supremacist groups.

Funny how that works.
