GOP Rep. Mocked for Desperate Video Outside Trump Tower After Trump Endorsed Her Opponent

GOP Rep. Mocked for Desperate Video Outside Trump Tower After Trump Endorsed Her Opponent

Republican Congresswoman Nancy Mace of South Carolina campaigned as a moderate, but has since struggled to walk the tightrope between old-school conservatism and the dominant far-right strain of the Republican party.

Mace voted against Trump and his allies' efforts to throw out the electoral votes of Pennsylvania and Arizona, but also voted against Trump's subsequent second impeachment. She said that, during the Capitol insurrection, she barricaded in her office and feared being targeted by Trump supporters, but then downplayed the attack when Democratic members of Congress expressed the fear they felt that day.

But, as the kingmaker of the Republican party, Trump's endorsement is a coveted one among Republican candidates, and Mace's opposition to Trump's efforts to overturn the election recently resulted in him endorsing her opponent, Katie Arrington.

Trump wrote in a statement on Wednesday:

"Katie Arrington is running against an absolutely terrible candidate, Congresswoman Nancy Mace, whose remarks and attitude have been devastating for her community, and not at all representative of the Republican Party to which she has been very disloyal."

The day after, Mace posted a video of herself standing in front of Trump Tower, asking voters to check her name at the ballot box.

Watch below.

Emphasizing that Mace turned South Carolina's First Congressional District blue in 2020, Mace desperately tried to ally herself with Trump:

"I'm in front of Trump Tower today, and I remember in 2015 when President Trump announced his run. I was one of his earliest supporters. I actually worked for the campaign in 2016. I worked at seven different states across the country to help get him elected. I supported him again in 2020 because of policies I believed in. He brought American jobs back, he lowered our taxes, wages and employment ... He made America safer and he took on China directly and America was stronger all around the world, and quite frankly, freedom and democracy was stronger all around the world."

She continued:

"These are things I still believe in today, policies that I believe in and continue to. As a strong fiscal conservative, I believe in putting America first. I believe in putting our country back on the path to prosperity, but Nancy Pelosi would love nothing more than to win this seat back in a midterm election cycle."

Mace went on to suggest that Arrington would lose SC-01 in a general election and jeopardize the prospects of a Republican majority when the 118th Congress convenes for the first time in January of next year.

Mace's efforts to promote her ties to Trump after his condemnation was met with admonishment and pity from social media users.

And it wasn't just Democrats who were criticizing her.

Ted Cruz Clashes With 'Crazy' MTG Over Her Cryptic Post Alluding That 'The Jews' Are Trying To Kill Her

Texas MAGA Republican Senator Rafael "Ted" Cruz raised eyebrows when he attacked Georgia QAnon/MAGA Republican Representative and conspiracy theorist Marjorie Taylor Greene (MTG) for being antisemitic.

MTG has promoted some antisemitic conspiracy theories in the past, like Jewish space lasers that control the weather or start wildfires, but this time people are calling Cruz out for reaching in an attempt to discredit the Georgia Republican and protect Trump from what's being concealed in FBI, Department of Justice, and court records relating to the indictment of Jeffrey Epstein on charges of sex trafficking of minors.

After far-right provocateur Nick Adams suggested that the singer, a fierce critic of the Trump administration, should not have been chosen for the halftime gig, California Governor Gavin Newsom's press office took to X to mock him in the account's now familiar Trump-esque style.
