Clark was this close to becoming a Marvel villain.

However you felt about the final season of Game Of Thrones, there is no denying that Emilia Clarke made the best of a tough situation and acted her damn eyebrows off in every single scene. Fans are now learning though that they may have missed out on that Targaryen magic being a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Daenerys Targaryen, the First of Her Name, Queen of the Andals, Mother of Dragons and the Breaker of ...Iron Man?

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter this week, Game Of Thrones star Emilia Clarke revealed that she had once been in line for the role of Anastasia Steele in the Fifty Shades series but ultimately chose to turn it down out of fear of being "pigeonholed" for the rest of her career.. Honestly, we get where she's coming from.

But in a much more disappointing piece of news, writer Drew Pearce let slip that at one time Clarke had been slated for a lead role in Marvel's Iron Man 3.

On Friday Pearce, who co-wrote the script with director Shane Black shared a photo on Instagram from a cast table reading early in the film's production, writing "Downey, Cheadle, Emilia Clarke (long story, the script changed)… all vaguely terrifying."

And more than a few fans had to do a double-take to make sure they read that right.

Yes, at one point the Mother of Dragons was getting ready to be a part of the third Iron Man film, but apparently some last minute script changes robbed us of that.

It wasn't revealed which part specifically Clarke was reading for, but the consensus seems think it was Dr. Maya Hansen, a role which eventually went to Rebecca Hall.

In early versions of the script Hansen was reportedly the lead villain of the movie, but when Marvel CEO Ike Perlmutter feared Marvel fans wouldn't buy an action figure of a female villain that all changed.

Another theory is that Clarke read for a minor role that was ultimately cut, but that doesn't sound like the Khaleesi we know.

The sad truth is action figure sales most likely robbed fans of Clarke as a bad-ass Marvel villain squaring off against yet another Stark.

Now that Clarke has wrapped up on Game Of Thrones, fans are hopeful that she still might find a place somewhere in the Marvel Universe.

Hopefully Marvel knows what's good for them and finds her a part fast.

Trump Adviser's Chess Analogy After Trump's Meeting With Canadian Prime Minister Is Epic Self-Own

President Donald Trump's adviser Stephen Miller was mocked online after he used a chess reference to heap praise onto Trump after his Oval office meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney.

Canadian voters returned the Liberal Party to power for a fourth consecutive term after Trump repeatedly threatened Canadian sovereignty amid an ongoing trade war. Carney made defending Canada’s sovereignty a cornerstone of his campaign, pushing back forcefully against Trump’s threats to annex the country as “the 51st state.”

People In Long-Term Relationships Explain What Love Feels Like To Them Now

While some people wax nostalgic about the "good old days" when everyone stayed married, the reality is that there were almost no options for divorced women. There were very few for widows either.

Longevity in relationships was more about necessity and no other choices than devotion. Now that divorce is easily accessible, longterm relationships are more likely to be a choice.
