Drivers Share Their Biggest Pet Peeves On The Road

Why are such a bad driver?!?!

Driving is a game of survival. Everyday we take our lives in our own hands behind the wheel. People are crazy and it doesn't take much to ruin driving. Driving is actually a rudimentary skill, so it's mind boggling that people can be so stupid or insane when performing on the tar. How do people not know the basics?

Redditor u/pqlt wanted drivers out there to discuss the worst of the road by asking.... Drivers of Reddit, what's your biggest pet peeve on the road?

Don't be polite, be predictable!

Giphy

People not going when the rules say it's their turn. Don't be polite, be predictable! refreshing_username

Beam Me.

Drivers who refuse to lower their high beams as they approach you at night. Back2BachBack2Bach

I always feel like flashing my brights at those cars, but there are times where I am not sure if they actually have their brights on or not. Some vehicles, especially trucks, just have really annoyingly bright headlights that are higher up compared to my car. SuperSpirals

Blinker.

You have a damn blinker, use it!!! MetaGeebus

Use it before you break. If you're already breaking I don't even give a damn at this point about your blinker, it's obvious you're turning. I'm so tired of having to slam my breaks at the same speed as the driver ahead of me because they couldn't use there blinker ahead of time. GDM117

GOOOOO!!!!!

People who don't pay attention when driving. If the light turns green, then go. Lights around me don't stay green for long, so this causes a crap load of traffic. FluffyBurgers

This old guy sat at a green light the other day. I gave him a light honk to alert him and he proceeds to pick up his hat and casually put it on his head. The school bus behind me honks as well, I give him a second honk. Guy continues to leisurely adjust his hat and after the bus and I honking about 3-4 times each, he looks in his rear view mirror at me and then continues off.

Unsurprisingly he pulls into the golf course after this little charade. All in front of a police station. YesSpamMaam

MERGE!!

Giphy

People who won't speed up when merging onto the freeway. noelg1998

This is NM. Drivers go to the end of the acceleration lane, then stop looking for an opening. When I first moved here I like to have rear ended 10 cars while in that lane accelerating to merge. robrtsmtn

Beat the Limit!

If you're going to go below the speed limit, do it in the right lane. drbdrbdr

I live in the mountains. Mostly 2 lane winding roads with no opportunity to pass. I have encountered so many drivers going 15-20 mph under the speed limit just lately that I mentally apologize to the drivers behind me because I must be under a curse. mference123mference123

Cheerios...

People who eat cereal while driving. mdawgjcmdawgjc

I see several of my neighbors walk to their cars carrying standard ceramic coffee mugs to their car in the morning by the handle. Like... really? That seems like such a bad idea. I wanted to get them all travel mugs for Christmas. bilbravo

Cruising....

Cruising in the left passing lane. Looking at you, Illinois. dc5trbo

So I live just across the border in Indiana. Daily I have to deal with Illinois people on our interstates cruising in the left lane, and their just general shitty driving. In May of 2018 I was out in Nevada driving back to Vegas from the Hoover Dam.

There was a line of people in the left lane, not passing up anyone on the right. Eventually things broke up a bit and I was able to pass on the right. Lo and behold when I get up to the front of that line to see what the hell the hold up was, a damn fool in a Jeep with an Illinois plate. No way. 2000 miles from home and those assholes are still pissing me off. dc5trbo

Damn Trucks.

I'm sure truck drivers will agree with me here but I hate people who are going 30mph up the on-ramp to a highway. Not all of us can quickly accelerate to 60 mph in 3 seconds, we need the length of the ramp and the right lane to get up to speed before we are forced to merge with traffic. kraftacular

Please, stay in your lane.

Giphy

Please, stay in your lane.

Please.

Please stop drifting into mine.

Please stop driving up the middle of the road. There are 2 lanes here.

Just stay in your damned lane. The_Vampire_Barlow

People Share Their Biggest 'I F*cked Up' Experiences

We're all human here, so we all make mistakes. Most mistakes can be resolved with a genuine apology, hot glue to fix a broken vase, and a good cleaning solution for a big spill.

Other mistakes, like bullying someone or breaking someone's heart, are much more guilt-inducing and harder for everyone to get over.
