Donald Trump Lied About Being TIME Magazine Person of the Year

Donald Trump Lied About Being TIME Magazine Person of the Year

Donald Trump went on Twitter on Friday to lay claim that TIME Magazine considered naming him "Person of the Year," even though they had already done so last year. But because he couldn't commit to an interview and photo shoot (too busy with his golfing), he would have to pass. Such a statement reeks of delusion and a bruised, overly-self-infatuated ego.

"Time Magazine called to say that I was PROBABLY going to be named “Man (Person) of the Year,” like last year, but I would have to agree to an interview and a major photo shoot. I said probably is no good and took a pass. Thanks anyway!"

To say people are skeptical of the Trump's claim would be an understatement.

"Time Magazine called me, too, but the photo shoot didn’t work out for my schedule. Had to take a pass."

It doesn't help Trump that not one person has ever been back-to-back Person of the Year in consecutive years.

Other people honestly couldn't care any less about what Trump says anymore.

Award-winning director and writer Ava DuVernay (13th, Selma, Wrinkle in Time) expressed the thoughts of millions in two succinct words: "Nobody cares."

It's looking like Trump is probably (definitely) NOT Person of the Year.

"Hate to tell you but that PROBABLY means you’re NOT Person of the Year. They just wanted a photo shoot. But I’m sure you still have that fake TIME cover somewhere in storage."

Oh, that's right! Trump has lied before about being on the cover of TIME. He's gone so far as to put a fake cover on display at some of his Mar-a-Lago golf club.

Liar, liar, pants on fire.

More and more people are calling Trump what he is: a liar.

A fake TIME cover for a fake president.

What's next? Sexiest Man Alive?

Tired of his lying, some people on Twitter got brutal with their reaction to the president's claim.

Sniff sniff. You smell that? Smells like...

Finally, TIME Magazine spoke up and exposed Trump's lie.

Turns out that Trump's narrative of TIME contacting him is, well, very much a lie. You're caught red-handed, Donnie.

"The President is incorrect about how we choose Person of the Year. TIME does not comment on our choice until publication, which is December 6."

Now it is always possible that Trump is telling the truth (bear with us now). Maybe he really did receive a phone call...

A number of better options for Person of the Year were suggested.

Football quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

The women who exposed Harvey Weinstein.

Juli Briskman, who was fired after a photo of her giving the middle finger to President Donald Trump’s motorcade went viral.

Or how about social activist Tarana Burke, who started the #metoo movement.

Just what is Trump's beef with TIME anyway?

Is this because they gave him devil horns last year?

Or is he jealous of the love the magazine has shown to Barack Obama?

Even Hillary Clinton has received plenty of magazine cover real estate. And we know Trump is obsessed with Hillary.

We'll have to wait until next week to find out who is indeed this year's TIME Person of the Year, but it is safe to say that the people have spoken in regard to the liar-in-chief. Sentiments shared by this bald eagle.

Nancy Sinatra Shuts Down MAGA Fan Who Claimed Her Famous Dad Would've Voted For Trump

It's no secret that MAGA Republican President Donald Trump hasn't been able to attract the cream of the crop when it comes to the entertainment industry.
