Chris Matthews Slammed for Praising Trump's 'True Presidential Behavior' Amid Ginsburg Death

As Americans wrestle with the death of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and the possibility of an irrevocable conservative majority on the nation's highest court, former MSNBC host Chris Matthews is facing backlash after praising President Donald Trump's reaction to Ginsburg's death.

Following a Friday night rally, the President was asked by reporters for a comment on Ginsburg's death, where he appeared to be learning of the development for the first time.

Watch below.

Trump said:

"She led an amazing life, what else can you say? She was an amazing woman — whether you agreed or not — she was an amazing woman who led an amazing life."

The President later issued a complete statement praising Ginsburg's legacy.

Trump's unqualified praise for a political enemy of his was just as short-lived as it was rare. Trump has since called to replace Ginsburg on the Court before the November election, in defiance of her dying wish that she not be replaced until a new President is installed.

In an interview with Fox and Friends, Trump implied that Ginsburg's granddaughter—who released the statement regarding the late Justice's final wish—was lying, and that the wish was actually "written out" by Democratic lawmakers.

Regardless of the human decency Trump displayed upon learning of Ginsburg's death, the President almost certainly intends to nominate a judge whose track record indicates a willingness to roll back not only some of Ginsburg's most consequential decisions, but rights which have protected marginalized Americans for decades.

Nevertheless, Matthews called Trump's reaction "true presidential behavior," while conceding that this behavior, for Trump, is rare.

Matthews was ousted from MSNBC after criticisms of inappropriate comments to guest interviewers.

Even Matthews' colleagues in media pushed back against his claims that Trump was being presidential.

Twitter users guffawed at the use of the word "presidential" to describe Donald Trump.

Dem Rep. Offers Brutally Accurate Reason For Why He Can't Understand 'The Mind Of Donald Trump'

Massachusetts Democratic Representative Seth Moulton made a fitting observation about President Donald Trump's mind after Trump gave a 20-minute address to the nation about his war in Iran on Wednesday evening.

Trump claimed “core strategic objectives are nearing completion” in the Iran war and vowed to strike Iran "extremely hard" over the next two to three weeks. He said that he would finish the job "very fast," without setting any timeline for ending the war. He pledged to "bring them [Iranians] back to the Stone Ages, where they belong.”

The relationship between Indigenous American nations and the colonizers and later settlers who arrived and established the United States is complicated.

Indigenous peoples were integral parts of the survival and success of early colonizers. The Haudenosaunee Confederacy's Great Law of Peace offered a blueprint for the United States Constitution and the structure of the federal government including the three independent branches offering checks and balances, ideally.

Racist Guy Caught On Video Tearing Through Iraqi Soccer Fans' Banner At Dallas Airport: 'Don't Come To America'

With the United States set to host the 2026 World Cup, a video out of Dallas Fort Worth International Airport is drawing attention for a very different reason: showing a man ripping apart an Iraqi soccer fan’s banner and telling them, “Don’t come to America.”

The video, posted on Instagram, shows a group of Iraqi sports fans standing in an airport holding a banner with Arabic and Spanish writing. The fans were there to support Iraq during their World Cup qualifier against Bolivia, which resulted in a 2-1 upset victory earlier that day.
