Conservatives were up in arms over Peppa Pig celebrating Pride month.

The official Instagram page for the animated series kicked off the LGBTQ+ celebration with a post, saying:

"🌈 Happy Pride Month 🌈 Here’s to celebrating love.❤"

The accompanying image featured the titular female piglet with her friends standing in front of a rainbow with the words "Happy Pride." The group included Penny Polar Bear, a character introduced as having two mothers.

Homophobic trolls blasted the post. It follows a trend among brands and companies like Target and Walmart honoring Pride and subsequently facing backlash from anti-LGBTQ+ conservatives.
