He tried it.

President Donald Trump made waves last week when he ejected his Chief of Staff, Mick Mulvaney, for coughing while Trump was answering an interview question.

“Let’s do that over," Trump said. "He’s coughing in the middle of my answer. I don’t like that…If you’re gonna cough, please leave the room. You just can’t, you just can’t cough.”

Trump couldn't, however, ask for a do-over in a press conference Thursday with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Toward the conclusion of the presser, Trudeau looked into the camera then proceeded to cough. Trump's face said everything.

Watch below:

People began speculating that Trudeau's cough was a subtle way of trolling the president, who reportedly despises coughing, sniffling, and sneezing—seeing the functions as a sign of weakness.

Americans began applauding for the leader north of the border.

Some believe the hand he chose was strategic as well.

It wouldn't be the first time Trudeau bested Trump with a handshake.

People Break Down The 'Silent Red Flags' Folks Tend To Ignore In Relationships

A red flag has come to mean any warning sign in life, in addition to the literal red flags that are placed on beaches or industrial sites to warn people of danger.

People will respond to situations by saying, "That’s a red flag." But before that language evolved, they'd just call them "warning signs."
