It's safe to say that former President Donald Trump isn't well-liked in the entertainment industry. Whether he's railing against the cast of Hamilton or even Meryl Streep herself, the onetime cameo king has burned bridges everywhere from Tinseltown to Broadway.

But there's at least one established actor who's all-in on his support for Trump: Academy Award winner Jon Voight.

Voight rose to fame for his performance as a hustler in Midnight Cowboy, and has since performed in dozens of films and television shows over the past four decades.

But lately, Voight has gained more notoriety—infamy?—for his increasingly bizarre endorsements of Trump, as is the case for a video the actor posted to his Twitter page this week.

Posing in front of an American flag, Voight sounds like he's describing a god in the video:

"We must give applause for our hero. Yes, he's been the greatest President since Abraham Lincoln. ... He has given hope to the American people, he's given trust and love. He's a man of integrity, a man of devotion, a man who ran the entire country with great heart and soul."

It's unclear how Voight arrived at the conclusion that a man who told more than 30 thousand lies in four years is a "man of integrity," how a man who paid hush money to porn stars with whom he had affairs is a "man of devotion," or how a man who injected toxicity into news cycles daily with petty Twitter insults and unhinged diatribes could be said to have "given trust and love."

But let's give Voight the benefit of the doubt.

He went on to present Trump with a "spiritual honor from the American people":

"For he, and only he, can turn around this nation's gloom. Hope has arrived, and we shall never feel this loss again, for we all know it was stolen, and we the American people know the truth. Donald J. Trump is a source of godspeed, and I know Abraham Lincoln's spirit is with him to turn America great again."

Twitter responded with a resounding "WTF?"

The actor's long-winded canonization of Trump struck many as cult-like.

In 2019, Trump awarded Jon Voight the Medal of Arts, calling him "an actor of astonishing range and depth."

Marco Rubio's Tone Deaf Attack On How Iran Is 'Spending Its Wealth' Is A Total Self-Own
