Kellyanne Conway Just Tried to Compare Trump's Impeachment to the Injustices Martin Luther King Jr. Fought Against

As millions of Americans commemorated the legacy of civil rights icon Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., presidential counsellor Kellyanne Conway railed against the impeachment trial of President Donald Trump, set to begin in the Senate on Tuesday.

The President, who leaves for the World Economic Forum in Davos on Monday night, has no public plans to commemorate Martin Luther King Day, prompting reporters to ask Kellyanne how he intended to celebrate.

Watch below.

Conway said:

"The President is preparing for Davos and agrees with many of the things that Dr. Martin Luther King stood for and agrees for many years, including unity and equality...[W]hen you see the articles of impeachment that came out, I don't think it was Dr. King's vision to have Americans dragged through a process where the president is not going to be removed from office, is not being charged bribery, extortion, high crimes and misdemeanors."

Dr. King spent his life transforming the societal landscape of the United States with his efforts to mobilize working class Black Americans against the systemic racism enshrined by those in power. He was spied on by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and eventually assassinated for his efforts.

King was doing this around the same time Trump was dodging the draft thanks to a bad case of bone spurs.

People weren't here for Kellyanne cheapening Dr. King's name and life's work by using him to defend the likes of Trump.

Meanwhile, the President used "MLK jr" Day to boast the Black unemployment rate, which is at a record low thanks to policies implemented by former President Barack Obama.

Trump was endorsed by David Duke, the former head of the Ku Klux Klan.

Trump Gives Mind-Numbing Reason For Why He Voted By Mail-In Ballot After Railing Against It

Although he regularly claims mail-in ballots are used by Democrats to rig elections, President Donald Trump was called out for voting by mail in Florida's election on Tuesday—and saying it's okay that he did it because he's the "president."

Palm Beach County records show that Trump cast a mail-in ballot earlier this week in the special election for Florida’s House District 87, the district that includes his Mar-a-Lago residence. He also voted by mail in the January primary for the same race.
