Twitter Has a Field Day Mocking Trump After GOP Senator Addresses 'Whoever Keeps Watch on Donald Trump' in Bizarre Tweet

Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) sent a bizarre tweet urging staff at the White House to show President Donald Trump a Wall Street Journal op-ed by Daniel Henninger in an effort to influence the President's trade policy, which is suffering due to Trump's propensity for imposing tariffs and advancing trade wars.

But it wasn't the contents of the article that got people's attention. It was the way Grassley spoke of Trump in the tweet.

See if you can spot what sticks out.

The tweet is addressed not to Trump but to "Whoever keeps watch on" him. However accidentally, it continued the image of a President who needs constant mollification and ceaseless supervision, lest an explosive tweet—or, y'know, actual explosives—be deployed before they can stop him.

Even Trump's own staff has admitted that Trump has the attitude and attention span of a toddler.

Remember the infamous "anonymous" op-ed from a high-ranking Trump official in the New York Times, which said:

"It may be cold comfort in this chaotic era, but Americans should know that there are adults in the room. We fully recognize what is happening. And we are trying to do what's right even when Donald Trump won't."

The assurance in the op-ed that there were "adults in the room" wasn't a comfort at all as long as there was a child behind the Resolute Desk.

Americans felt the same about Grassley's tweet.

They also pointed out the word for "someone who keeps watch on" a dependent child.

It didn't exactly boost Trump's credibility.

Let's hope Trump is being watched over by a "very stable genius."
