Despite millions of Americans suffering unemployment at the hands of the virus that's killed over 250 thousand Americans, the Republican-led Senate has gone home for the week of Thanksgiving.

Lawmakers have been wrangling to pass another wave of pandemic relief, but talks have largely stalled due to Republican insistence on liability protections for corporations and hesitation to substantially boost unemployment benefits.

The House of Representatives has twice passed a version of the HEROES Act, but it's buried in the graveyard of bills on Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell's desk.

Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY)—who rebuked McConnell on the House floor for allowing the Senate to break without passing relief—continued to admonish the Senate Majority Leader on Twitter.

It wasn't long before Republican Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) tried to blame Democrats for the failure to pass relief.

Ocasio-Cortez didn't hesitate to answer him.

When Ted Cruz tried to retort...

Ocasio-Cortez, famous for her technical acumen and devastating clapbacks, only humiliated him further.

She told Cruz that in the House of Representatives, when a bill doesn't have the votes to pass, lawmakers work together to improve it until it does.

She suggested the Senate do the same.

People applauded AOC's latest verbal joust.

And she wasn't the only one to roast Ted Cruz.

Relief talks are currently at a standstill in Congress.

Even Trump's NASA Director Had To Set Kim Kardashian Straight After She Said The Moon Landing 'Didn't Happen'

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy—who is also NASA's Acting Administrator—issued the weirdest fact-check ever when he corrected reality star Kim Kardashian after she revealed herself to be a moon landing conspiracist.

Conspiracy theorists have long alleged the moon landing was fabricated by NASA in what they claim was an elaborate hoax—and Kardashian certainly made it clear where she stands in a video speaking to co-star Sarah Paulson on the set of the new Hulu drama All’s Fair.

Special Olympics Fires Back At Kid Rock With Powerful Statement After He Used 'The R-Word' To Describe Halloween Costume

MAGA singer Kid Rock was called out by Loretta Claiborne, the Chief Inspiration Officer of the Special Olympics, after he used the "r-word"—a known ableist slur—to describe his Halloween costume this year.

Kid Rock, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, was speaking with Fox News host Jesse Watters when he donned a face mask and said he'd be going as a "r**ard" for Halloween. Watters had guessed he was dressed as Dr. Anthony Fauci, the former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases who spearheaded the nation's COVID-19 pandemic response.
