Patti LaBelle Powers Through After Forgetting The Words During Tina Turner Tribute At BET Awards

LaBelle told the crowd she couldn't 'see the words' on the teleprompter while singing Turner's hit 'The Best' at the 2023 BET Awards.

Patti LaBelle had a moment when she forgot the words to a Tina Turner song during the iconic singer's tribute to the late legend at the BET awards.

LaBelle was singing Turner's 1989 hit "The Best" when she couldn't see the words on the teleprompter.


In the video LaBelle said she's trying after some people obscured her view of the lyrics.

“What if I can’t see the words, I don’t know! I’m trying, y’all!”

Many people took to social media to express their frustration with the situation.




Some people blamed the production.



Tina Turner was an icon and an amazing singer.

With all she did in her life, she deserved a wonderful tribute. Unfortunately, circumstances occurred that made her tribute a little sloppy.

But that doesn't take away from all she gave the world.
