These Passengers Were Way More Forgiving Than We Would Have Been After Learning Their Plane Landed in Edinburgh Instead of Düsseldorf

Traveling, even with all the technological advancements is not without its issues.

Passengers on one flight found that out when their pilot landed in Edinburgh, Scotland instead of Düsseldorf, Germany.

Imagine boarding a flight in London, planning to vacation (or work) in Düsseldorf, Germany. The flight takes off, travels and lands without issue.

However upon landing the pilot exclaims:

"Welcome to Edinburgh!"

Which is followed by:

"No one to Edinburgh? No one to Edinburgh? Ok. Please don't make photos or videos."

In the video, passengers can be heard laughing nervously and wondering how they could have ended up in the wrong city.

One passenger, Sophie Cook, said:

"He said it had never happened before and that the crew was trying to work out what we could do. "It became very frustrating. The toilets were blocked and they ran out of snacks. It was also really stuffy."

The change of destination held her up as she was traveling from London to Düsseldorf for work.

The flight had started at London's City Airport. The flight was stuck in Edinburgh while the airport and crew members tried to figure out how the flight got misdirected and how to fix the issue.

Most of the passengers, aside from issues pointed out by Sophie Cook, were forgiving in the situation. They tried to laugh it off as an honest mistake

Flights have been delayed, and cancelled. Luggage has been lost.

But a misdirected airplane is a bit much.

British Airways tried to convince passengers that the flight had simply been diverted.

Finally, they did admit their error stating:

"We are working with WDL Aviation, who operated this flight on behalf of British Airways, to establish why the incorrect flight plan was filed. We have apologized to customers for this interruption to their journey and will be contacting them all individually."

This minor miscommunication, and misdirect, caught the attention of Jay Rayner, a British journalist, who tweeted:

"I'm on a BA flight to Edinburgh but keeping my fingers crossed for Düsseldorf. Never been there."

This brought out all sorts of replies.

There is an actual travel company that will allow you to pay for a vacation, but they don't give you your destination until your tickets are in hand.

However, those travelers pay for the surprise. British Airways passengers got a new destination out of the blue for free.
