Mitch McConnell's Campaign Is Getting Called Out for Its Morbid Display of Gravestones With Political Foes' Names on Them

Mitch McConnell's Campaign Is Getting Called Out for Its Morbid Display of Gravestones With Political Foes' Names on Them
WASHINGTON, DC - JULY 31: Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) attends a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing for Kenneth Charles Canterbury Jr. and judicial nominees July 31, 2019 in Washington, DC. Deplorable.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell's (R-KY) campaign is in hot water for tweeting a photo of tombstones featuring the names of McConnell's rivals only hours after a white supremacist murdered 22 people in El Paso, Texas.

The cardboard tombstones were erected at the 2019 Fancy Farm event, where McConnell made an appearance. They feature the names of McConnell's 2020 senate challenger Amy McGrath as well as Judge Merrick Garland, whom McConnell unconstitutionally stonewalled from ascending to the Supreme Court after former President Barack Obama appointed him to replace the late Justice Antonin Scalia on the Supreme Court.

McGrath soon responded to the McConnell campaign's insidious display.

As did a score of other Americans.

On his own Twitter account, McConnell posted a message about the shootings.

Despite the House of Representatives passing a common sense gun reform bill months ago, McConnell has refused to bring it to the Senate floor for a vote.

In the wake of the shootings in El Paso and Dayton, Democratic lawmakers are pressuring McConnell to suspend the August recess and declare an emergency Senate session to put the legislation up for a vote.

Megyn Kelly Explains Bonkers Reason She Would Still Vote Republican Even If Trump 'Dropped A Nuke'—And It's A Big Yikes

Former Fox News host turned far-right pundit Megyn Kelly was criticized for her reasoning after declaring that President Donald Trump "could drop a nuke" on Iran and it still wouldn't get her to vote for Democrats.

Kelly spoke on her podcast amid significant concern over remarks Trump made online threatening to decimate Iran's infrastructure if they didn't permit tanker traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, a narrow passage at the entrance to the Persian Gulf that carries roughly 20% of the world’s oil supply.
