'The Daily Show' Just Perfectly Trolled Sarah Sanders With a Mock Statement on the Roger Stone Indictment That Seriously Sounds Like She Wrote It

It's funny cuz it's true.

After White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders tried to distance the White House and President Donald Trump from indicted ex-advisor Roger StoneThe Daily Show drafted a more fitting version of Sanders' remarks and posted it to Twitter.

"Are we all buying this statement from @PressSec," the tweet read. Attached was the revised statement, which read:

"The president does not know Roger Stone, has never met Roger Stone, cannot pronounce 'Roger Stone,' doesn't know how to read, has difficulty maintaining focus for more than 3 seconds at a time, doesn't have any friends, is not guilty of any crimes, and cannot be arrested. Furthermore, the stock market."

Nailed it.

The Daily Show's version is more believable.

Some, however, had some additions.

Because why not?

Tell us how you really feel.

Below is Sanders' grossly misleading statement about Stone's arrest:

“This has nothing to do with the president and certainly nothing to do with the White House,” Sanders said on CNN. “This is something that has to do solely with that individual.”
