Curiosity very nearly killed the cat, but some kind volunteers brought him back. Jacqueline Lake of Nova Scotia was mailing a parcel when, unbeknownst to her, her family's beloved tabby cat Baloo climbed inside. Four days later, after hours of searching for the feline, Lake got a call from the recipient of a tire rim she had shipped to Alberta, about 17 hours away. It turns out their package had come with a little something extra...
Lake thought it was strange that one of her packages had felt about 10 pounds heavier than the others, but assumed it was a difference in one of the rims.
Volunteers from the SPCA drove Baloo back home—he didn't make a peep during the entire journey!
Lake is eternally grateful to the organization for saving the family's kitty!
"I didn't have money to travel to Montreal to get my cat back, but we got him. I didn't have to pay anything. It was pretty amazing they did this for us."
You can never be too careful when there's a cat in the house...
Of course, there's not much you can do if the cat mailed itself intentionally.
All's well that ends well!
Baloo may disagree, however.
Everyone's glad you're ok, Baloo! Maybe think twice before wasting another one of your nine lives on a 17-hour trip across the country.
