Actor and producer B.J. Novak may no longer be dating Mindy Kaling, but he sure knows how to make his former Office costar feel special.

After the release of Kaling's new film, Disney's A Wrinkle In Time, Novak posted a heartfelt tweet congratulating Kaling on her recent successes and commenting on how far the actress has come.

Novak, 38, noticed a magnificent display in a prominent location promoting the movie, which premiered last week.

"When I met @mindykaling she lived in a small apartment on Fairfax Ave," Novak wrote about her humble digs a few years ago. "This is what's in front of that building today. Congrats Mindy and a future congrats to all those who see you in it and are inspired to do great things."

Kaling, who's also a new mom, responded to Novak's tweet, "Oh my god I'm like full crying. I will never be mad at you again."

Twitter users responded as if the two had rekindled their Office roles. Fans want Kaling's Kelly Kapoor & Novak's Ryan Howard to get together again — in real life.

The sweet exchange on Twitter happened after the pair attended the Vanity Fair Oscars after party.

Whether or not the two of them are romantically involved in each other's lives is a bit of a mystery, but Kaling has described their "weird" friendship.

In 2015, she told In Style:

I will freely admit: My relationship with B.J. Novak is weird as hell. He is not my boyfriend, but he is not my best friend.
I guess you could describe our relationship as a 'romantically charged camaraderie with loud arguments,' but I don't think Facebook would accept this as a new status.

In a 2014 interview with People, Novak summed up his friendship with Kaling as one that is "complicated."

A really complicated person and a really complicated friendship, but I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.

Still, fans of the Steve Carell-helmed NBC show can't seem to dismiss the pair as just BFFs.

Kaling's Mindy Project co-star David Stassen commented on Novak's tweet, saying, "She lived next to a Burger King and didn't even know it. Very sad for her."

Another Mindy Project costar, Ike Barinholtz, couldn't miss an opportunity to have it his way with another dig at Burger King. He wrote, "That BK used to sell a whopper that had a fried chicken breast on top, it was messed up."

Fans praised the actress and writer, and thought the shout out from her special friend was well-deserved.

Still, fans want the two to officially LIKE like each other.

Timothée Chalamet declaring that “no one cares” about ballet and opera was always going to age poorly. It just happened faster than expected.

Caitlyn Jenner Slammed For Hypocrisy After Revealing That She Asked Trump To Fix Gender On Her Passport So She Can Travel Again

Former Olympian Caitlyn Jenner recently revealed she can no longer travel internationally after the Trump administration's new passport policy required her to be marked as "male," and is receiving backlash for writing a letter to President Donald Trump asking him to get it changed.

Jenner, a transgender woman, has long aligned herself with the MAGA movement, which is diametrically opposed to LGBTQ+ equality and has led an attack against transgender rights that culminated in legislation banning or restricting gender-affirming care in GOP-led legislatures in more than half the country.
